            When traveling from over seas with the specific purpose of visiting St Andrews, most people choose to fly into the airports at Edinburgh, Dundee or Glasgow.

            The closest airport to St Andrews is the one located at Dundee.  This airport is not as large as the other two mentioned, and only a few airlines fly into this location.  Getting to St Andrews from the airport without a car can be done by a combination of train and bus.
