Oahu was awesome. Highly recommend the nightlife and family oriented place to vacation. Highly recommend snorkeling, North Shore, and Puka Dog to eat. Food was great everywhere and service was spectacular.

Waikiki was expensive and touristy I give it a 5/10 overall. Went to Kailua beach that was a break from the crowded beaches of Waikiki. Also went snorkling and saw Pearl Harbor that was the highlight of the trip. My friends and I are all in our early 20s so we checked out the nightlife and discovered there wasnt much. If you are going to party in Waikiki STAY AWAY FROM THE PUB CRAWL. These guys are annoying and we got duped by some shady street salesman and it was the worst experience of our life. Other than that the trip was merely average.

I had the time of my life in Honolulu. The scenery was fantastic. We hiked the beach to Diamondhead and hiked the dormant volcan. That was amazing!!! A friend of mine was living there at the time and drove us all around the island where we got a chance to see some spectacular views and prvat beaches. The Island was chalked full of things to do. We went parasailing, snokeling, and my favorite part... hiking at Lyon's Arboretum. That was so cool. We were in a rainforest, an actual rainforest! We saw waterfalls, were attacked by bugs, and even though we knew there are no snakes on the island, my friend insisted that she saw one, lol. It was the time of my life and I would recommend anyone that wants to get away and be adventureous head that way.

“My favorite place in the world as of 2008”

Honolulu and Waikiki are on the most beautiful island in the world. I haven't seen any of the other islands but I know that Oahu Hawaii felt like I came home. The fantastic weather and the balmy breezes were wonderful, especially after coming from snow and ice in Kansas. I cried when we left and I am yearning to go back very soon. The palms trees are amazing and the air smells of flowers. You can smell it as soon as you leave the airport and it is wonderful.

Among the must-see places- Pearl Harbor( go early in the morning, since
its one of the only free attractions & lines are long)
USS Missouri & USS Bowfin- Next to the Pearl harbour memorial- tickets
must be purchased seperately. While waiting for your timed entry passes
to the Pearl harbour memorial, use the time to visit these must see
naval attractions.
Diamond Head State park- A short distance from Waikiki beach, the trek
to the top offers some great views of Honolulu City. Go early in the
morning when the heat is less, and the crowds are smaller.
Hanuuma Bay- A short drive away from Waikiki, it offers some great
snorkelling. Just rent a snorkel & flippers & you are good to go! The
earlier in the morning the better- it opens as early as 6 in the morning,
but the water would be cold then. By noon, the place gets very very
crowded- & the number of fish you can see dramatically reduces. Even if you
don't want to snorkel, its a great place to just relax & soak in the
natural beauty.
Waikiki beach- A short stretch of beach with a zillion things to do &
see.
Bishop Museum- Again try to go when the museum opens, lines are long
and there is so much to see & do.
Dole Plantation- only recommended if you have an extra day. Located on
the north shore, its quite a distance from Waikiki- again there is
direct bus service, and the ride is beautiful-plenty to look at & enjoy if
you are not driving. They have a short guided tour of the plantation &
a cute train ride. They let you sample the pineapples that grow there.
Fun on a rainy day.
Polynesian Cultural Center- great fun for the whole family. 7
beautifully reconstructured islands make up the center- they open at noon, so if
you reach early, take time to enjoy the lunch buffet(extra charge)
before making the rounds. Be sure to watch the once-in-a-day Canoe
pageant. Lots of fun activities for the kids, which include fishing, spear
throwing, drum beating & getting tatoos.
