“Exceptionally nice”

Diamond Hawaii Resort and Spa

We stayed 5 days and 4 nights at Diamond Hawaii. Resort amenities offered use of a men and women separate communal bath and workout area. The pool and hot tub were very clean and we swam almost nightly. During our stay the staff was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was very peaceful and quiet. We got an efficiency type room which was very spacious and clean. There was a kitchenette area with range, sink, electrical appliances, and small fridge. The beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable and the sheets were very soft. I had no trouble falling asleep during my stay. As previous reviews noted the fixtures were dated but worked well. The balcony area abutted a koi pond and the beach was visible. The resort also had two restaurants on the premises, but we didn't get to try them because we tried to eat locally. Overall, for the price, service, and location, I would stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

“Good but dated”

We arrived at the Diamond Resort very late after flight delays from LAX, I had called to warn them we would be late but check in was no problem and the night security drove us to our room in the golf buggy. There are four suites per detached bungalow. We booked a partial ocean view and were not disappointed the following morning when we looked out across the resort grounds and a great view of the ocean from the balcony.

Inside the suites are large with a kitchen area, lounge, bedroom, bath/shower, seperate toilet and sink area. In general the bathroom and kitchen fixtures are looking dated and some of the furnishings are getting tired but they are all in good working order and more than adequate. The resort itself was very quiet when we were there, the only other guests we saw were sat in their suite when we were returning in the evening. We didn't use the communal areas but what we saw looked very nice and clean.

The resort is located on the hill overlooking Wailea, on the first morning we walked into the centre. Although not a huge distance it was quite hard work in the hot sun, especially the uphill section on the way back. In the car it is a short drive to the nearest beach and Wailea itself. We did not eat at the resort restaurants whilst we were there and ate out instead. We would recommend Ferraros at the Four Seasons for dinner and Longhis (located at the shops) for breakfast.

“Good but dated interior”

Diamond Hawaii Resort and Spa

Diamond Resort was a strange experience. The positive side is that the rooms are big , with a nice balconery . We had an ocean view suite , and the view was really stunning. The resort itself is a bit dated. All furnitures are 20 years old . The pool area is small and dated too . The Yakuzzi was not useable. The restaurants (Japanes and Italian) are not to recommend. Espacially the Japanese Restaurent was not Japanese at all ;-) . The Sahimi and Nigiri Sushi had a "ok"-quality and looked like dangeours bombs. Not for food asthetes.

So you have to go out for dinner or lunch better to the Four Seasons or other Hotel restauretns in the Waleian Area. Or you cook on your own. The kitchen inside the rooms is ok and usefull.

The best was the friendly Hotel staff and the fantastic relaxed atmposphere inside the Resort. There was no noise, Baby Crying, party Music or simliar. Diamond Resort is a good place for people who wants to stay out of trouble or fuss.

“Okay hotel for Maui”

Reasonably priced hotel for Wailea area. The rooms are a little old but overall satisfactory. You're not right on the beach so if you are looking for direct access this is not it. The resort is located on a tranquil hill and a short drive to public beach access. Rooms are spacious with a lanai and kitchenette. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

“Honeymoon Getaway”

Diamond Hawaii Resort and Spa

5 of 5 stars
Massachusetts
Mar 29, 2008

We booked our entire Maui wedding/honeymoon online through Expedia.com. We chose this resort because of the beautiful grounds and it's Japenese design.

We wanted a quiet resort because we have 4 kids, that were not with us!! LOL!! And that is exactly what we got. Very relaxing and peaceful.

Everything about this resort was perfect. We were on a tight wedding budget and booked a Partial Oceanview Suite, however, when we checked in we were told that we were "upgraded" to a Deluxe Oceanview Suite. The view was amazing!!

We look at our wedding and honeymoon photos everyday and it's been almost a year. We cannot wait to go back and we would definately return to the Diamond Resort and Spa!!
