“Almost luxury in the middle of the French Quarter”

Omni Royal Orleans

Jul 1, 2008

The Omni is a very nice hotel, refreshing change from the norm in the middle of the French Quarter. The rooms are comfortable and if you want lots of space request a King corner room, I could've swim laps in the bathtub. If you hang out in the hotel bar you are sure to run into a celebrity during the week on break from filming!

“Great Place to Stay”

Omni Royal Orleans

5 of 5 stars
Maryland
Jun 29, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the Omni for our tenth wedding anniversary. Normally we stay at another hotel on Bourbon St, but wanted a little quieter place. I booked with the hotels website and got a great rate. They gave us a standard room with two double beds. The room was very nice. I was worried that the room was going to be tiny because all of the reviews, but it was just like any other hotel room (two beds, nightstand, TV with stand and a few drawers, a desk, a nice comfy chair with ottoman and even a closet). We did not eat in the restaurants or order room service. The pool was very nice and the view was spectacular. The people working at the rooftop bar were great! The only think that we could complain about was that there wasn’t a soda machine in the hotel to get a late night drink. One of the other reviews complained of too much water pressure, it is strong, but you will be fine.

The location is great. You are a block from bourbon and a can get to everything by walking. We had a great time and will return.

Thank you for staying with us for your 10th wedding anniversary. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your description of our guest rooms. We do have larger rooms than our standard guest rooms at the Omni Royal Orleans for an additional charge for guests who would like more space. Our balcony rooms that look out to the French Quarter are particularly popular with our guests. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to New Orleans.

“Old World Charm with Modern Ammenities!”

Omni Royal Orleans

5 of 5 stars
Chicago, IL
Jun 26, 2008

My husband and I travel a great deal. We just stayed 5 nights at this hotel and loved the balcony room. We usually stay at the Hilton Riverside which was booked with conventions.

Before I booked the Omni, I read the reviews, and knew a regular room would be too small for us to stay 5 nights. I called and spoke to management. We had a larger room booked and blocked for us.

When we arrived, there was a date glitch, and two weddings, and the blocked room was gone! In fact the entire hotel was booked! The hotel manager Chris L. was an incredible customer service professional, and when he showed us the available room---I freaked because it was small and I felt claustrophobia kick in. (This hotel was built in 1800's!--I am used to the bigger corporate hotels) He went out of his way to accomodate us, with what little was available, and found us a balcony room that someone was to have had a late check out. We went out and about while we waited for it to be cleaned, they called our cell phone, and room 414 was awesome!!

Five nights there and we have not one complaint! Our room was spacious, elegant, clean and georgeous!--- Very, Very New Orleans! The rooftop pool was fantastic--and the views were beautiful. Great Food. Ambiance, and Service. The Staff, Bellmen, and Valets were all friendly, too. The Location was soooo ideal.

We had bumped into Chris many times, and he always asked how everything was, and if we needed anything! It was an amazing stay---one we'll never forget. You just don't find customer sevice at that level very easily these days. This hotel blows away the Hilton---and I highly recommend staying here! We will absolutely be back.

This was supposed to be a weekend getaway/birthday trip for my husband and I and wanted to stay at a top hotel in the French Quarter. First of all, we got there about 3 hours early before check-in time and pulled up to the curb of the hotel. The doorman, Marty, was extremely rude to me which started me off on a bad note, but I was willing to overlook this a-hole to stay at this fancy shmancy hotel. Check-in was a breeze (since we made reservations) and we went up to our room. NOT what I expected! A small room- nothing special. The bed was not comfortable and the room looked like it had not been thoroughly cleaned- very dusty. Later that night, my husband called room service for a dessert for my birthday (only 3 or 4 items are on the dessert menu) but they didn't have any cake or cheesecake, so I ordered pecan pie. The pie was ice cold and not very good.
The next day we stayed around the pool for most of the day and it was nice (you can see for miles around New Orleans from up there on the rooftop). Overall, I would have to say that for $200 a night it is SO NOT WORTH IT! We should have stayed at the Hotel Monteleone which is 10 times better for about the same price.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the Omni Royal Orleans and apologize for any rude attitudes from our associates. We also regret that you did not enjoy the accommodations. We do offer rooms for an upgraded rate that offer more space. Due to the age of many buildings in the French Quarter, the rooms are not as spacious as a new hotel built outside the Quarter. But those hotels lack the history and proximity to the excitement in the French Quarter. However, every guest deserves a clean room. We invite any guest who does not feel their room is clean to call housekeeping for prompt service. We hope you will consider staying with us again when you return to New Orleans.

“Wonderful experience”

Omni Royal Orleans

5 of 5 stars
Pearl, Mississippi

One of my best friends and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Omni. The valet and front desk staff were so courteous and friendly and the lobby was immaculate. The room was clean and had a terrific view, of course we asked for a room with a view. And the bedding was very comfortable, we slept well. The location really is supurb, 1 block from Bourbon Street, yet far enough away that we heard no noise. Only thing that I was disappointed about was that they had closed the rooftop pool bar due to rain. Once the rain had stopped, they didn't reopen it and that was one of the reasons that I chose this hotel to begin with. I will check the weather next time and come when it's pretty enough to swim and have a drink. Other than that one issue, it was a wonderful stay and I would definately return!
