This hotel was the 6th hotel and second to the last stop on a long road trip with three kids so our 2 bedroom unit pleased all of us. The rate of $189/night was a good deal considering the town was packed for Olympic Trials in gymnastics. After looking at off property parking options we decided to bite the bullet w/ the daily parking rate ($36/day) and were pleasantly surprised with the prompt service. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but a tad smaller than other Residence Inn properties that we've stayed at.
The complimentary breakfast made up for the parking costs. There were options for the whole family: eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, bagels, muffins, toast, dry cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit (bananas and apples) and different types of yogurt. There was always room for our family (which can sometimes be a problem at hotels that provide breakfast) and items were restocked regularly.
The hotel was a nice walking distance to Independence Hall. Our kids wanted to do the Once Upon a Nation Storytelling series and we found ourselves walking to the area on three consecutive days.
We were happy that Chili's and Maggiano's were close to the hotel and provided wonderful take out options for our brood. Philly was not a city to walk around at night with young kids.
Overall, we loved the hotel and the staff, who were always kind and helpful, and we would stay there again if ever in Philadelphia.
