We stayed at Mahana for a week for our honeymoon May 18th, 2008. It was the best decision we made. We rented out condo from the owner directly through VRBO.com. This way we knew exactly what condo we were getting before we got there. The condo was amazing. Our condo was on the first floor which we didn't mind a bit. We were on the end of the first building though, so there wasn't much foot traffic in front of it. Literally steps from the beach though. Amazing views. No other place in Maui is this close to the beach.

The beach right in front of the condo wasn't too good for swimming; it's a pretty short steep beach. But walk left or right 100 feet and it's some of the best beach on Maui. Not crowded at all, because it's not right next to any resorts. To the left is a half mile of awesome beach with no one on it. The best snorkeling was just to the left of the condo between Mahana and Black rock. If you’re worried about the beach in front of the hotel, DON'T BE! We were a little, but were extremely happy with the location and the beach on either side of the condo.

The pool was just totally redone and is awesome. Not huge, but you've got the beach right there. They've got grill to barbeque if you wish. The internet worked good in the lobby, but was really slow in the condo.

We went on the Four winds snorkel cruise to molokini. It was fun, but we wouldn't go again. The smaller the boat the better. There were about 60 people on ours, which wasn't bad, but there were soooo many people at molokini that you kept bumping in to people. All the snorkel cruises get there at the same time. So if you can find a smaller cruise it'd probably be better. The best snorkeling was right by the condo and North on 30 up by Honolua Bay.

We did Haleakala and it was amazing. It was clear on top and awesome. We did the road to Hana after that which was exciting, but we only made it to mile 22 before we turned back. We didn't want to drive back in the dark. So if you go you might want to go early and spend a whole day doing it.

We also drove the northwest side of the island up 30 which turns into 340 (kahekili hwy) Some awesome beaches and a blow hole. Definitely hike down to the blow hole, bring some sturdy shoes though. One the road turned to a one lane ATV trail; we turned back after stopping at the smoothie bus for a snack.

We liked Leilani's and Hula grill in Whaler's village. Swan Court at the Hyatt was awesome. Sansei for sushi....defiantly go here. It's up by the Ritz Carlton now, but the front desk will give you directions. The gazebo was the best breakfast on Maui. Try the banana pancakes and the omelets were awesome. It's worth the 20 min wait if there is one. Just turn left out of the condo, about 10 minutes on the left in the napili shores condos. We ate breakfast at the plantation house, it was awesome. We didn't care for the Lahaina fish company though.

We went to the Old Lahaina Luau, it was recommended and we thought it was awesome.

There's a grocery store right a crossed from the condo and a Maui dive shop to rent snorkel gear from.

We also took a helicopter ride from Alex Air. We signed up for the east side tour and ended up getting upgraded to a whole island tour for free. It's expensive, but if your gonna take a helicopter tour; this is the place to do it.

Overall, we loved Mahana, can't wait to go back. We had no problems there at all. Great place for a honeymoon or a vacation, with or without family. There was a washer and dry in the condo and beach towels, so we didn't have to bring any.

This was our first family trip to Hawaii and so I wanted it to be real special. I did my research and read the reviews this property had. I am so happy to have chosen such magnificent place to stay. We couldn't have asked for more - we had a beautiful unit (1005) with absolutely breathtaking views from our bedroom lanai to the living room. The minute we walked in, we had the ocean right infront of our eyes. Everything was just perfect from the decor, the spacious bedroom with comfortable bed, the living room area, dinning area, the bathrooms (2) both completely remodeled/new with very spacious showers and not to mentioned the kitchen. WOW, I mean this kitchen was fully remodeled/new and equipped with everthing needed to cook. I just really enjoyed cooking/preparing meals for my family in such beautiful kitchen. But that's not all - our unit even had a washer and dryer which was just perfect. I mean what more can you possibly want? This, by far was the BEST!

The staff - THE BEST! So professional and always willing to help and answer any questions we had. Every morning and evening they would all greet us with big smiles in their faces. We even booked our helicopter tour through them. I mean these people were just all so friendly and happy. The lady in charge of cleaning our unit (Juicy - sorry if spelled wrong) this lady was so nice always making sure we had everything we needed from towels, toiletries etc. and again always with a big smile. The pool and barbecue area were all perfect. I must say this was the best vacation ever... Other extras this property has which no other does unless you pay a daily fee is the FREE PARKING AND FREE WI-FI! Again, this property was just beyond SUPERB! We cannot wait to come back again next year June 2009.

We stayed in unit #216. First off let me say that the lower floors are where it's at. It was like standing on the ocean at this level. You could hear the waves all night and we slept great! We booked with the owner via a website that featured direct booking. The owner’s of our unit went above and beyond to help us in any way they could with info on great places to eat and which attractions would be a waste of time for us. We snorkeled right outside the room. The pool is great and there are five or so BBQ's to use if you so choose. The building is beautiful and well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery and gear rental places close by. We will be back and we will stay in the same room. Don’t waste your money on a hotel.

After months of planning a four island tour of Hawaii, I chose the ResortQuest Mahana because of the good reviews/ratings and was not disappointed. We arrived on May 22nd and were assigned a beautiful and clean one bedroom suite on the 3rd floor. There were granite counter tops in the full kitchen, a washer and dryer, pretty ceramic bathrooms, but our favorite were the breathtaking ocean front views and sunsets! Sitting on the lanai and eating meals were simply delightful! We attended the free breakfast put on by the concierge in which she discussed activities we could sign up for and purchase through Expedia--it was all optional and low-key. We decided to book a luau (I believe it was $56 a person) and a snorkeling trip to Molokini which was also reasonably priced. The whole family enjoyed the luau and it was a great way to begin our trip and we also had fun on the snorkeling trip with the Pacific Whale Watch group. I also cannot say enough about the beautiful landscaped grounds and the walk to the Star supermarket across the street was a relaxing one--no need to drive to the Safeway--the Star had more of an "island" feel to it. We grilled out almost every night on immaculate grills that I noticed were cleaned in the morning by staff members. I remembered someone mentioning the high winds, and did recall it being windy in the afternoon, but not bothersome. My concentration was the pure pleasure of relaxing on the nice loungers facing a beautiful beach, then leisurely walking to swim or snorkel and end the day in the hot tub gazing out at the ocean and jumping into the refreshing pool. My teen-aged son appreciated the air conditioning because we did not have a/c on a couple of the other islands. I would love to send my daughter here for her honeymoon. WOW! All I can say is that I can't imagine returning to Maui without staying at the Mahana!
