It's hard to find any fault at the Pineapple Inn. The gardens that welcome guests at the front of the inn are immaculate. The fruit trees and flowers made us feel like we've truly arrived in a tropical paradise.
Our room on the 2nd Floor had a balcony with a tremendous view stretching up the Southwest coast of Maui. We felt like we were the only ones staying at the inn, eating breakfasts on the balcony.
The rooms are a moderate size, complete with a kitchenette, a stocked refrigerator with juices, muffins, fruit, yogurt, etc, air-conditioning, fan, and a queen sized bed. The mattress itself was fine, but definitely not as comfortable as ours at home. The bathroom had a large stand-up shower that was clean.
Outside the room is a bureau-stand which holds clean towels, and also has a variety of Maui guide books, including "Maui Revealed" and an audio recording ot the Road to Hana.
The location is about a 5 minute drive to many restaurants in Kihei and its beaches. It's a quick 1 minute drive down the hill to the highway and made for easy access to all parts of the island. The Southwest part of the island is rather dry, and the landscape more desert-like, but we appreciated not needing to deal with humidity or mosquitos.
The pool and gardens behind the inn are likewise beautiful and very private. We swam to Hawaiian tunes (coming from discreetly place speakers) during the afternoons, and felt like we were the only ones there.
All in all, a wonderful place to get away with a signficant other. You'll feel like you're in a tropical paradise.
