Absolutely Fabulous. You know that saying, “you get what you pay for”, well not true in this case. The price we paid for the room was VERY reasonable. For what you get, really no where on the strip will you find a room like at the Desert Rose. The bed is very comfy and I find myself really looking forward to sleeping on it because I sleep quite well. How often can you say that about sleeping in a bed other than your own? The kitchen is fantastic. It’s helpful if you are watching your dollars. You can cook some meals in and then head out for some fun. With each unit you get an awesome breakfast. What a great way to start your day. The Desert Rose is conveniently located just a short walk to the famous Las Vegas strip next to the Hooters Hotel and Casino. From the minute I arrive to the time I check out I find myself showered with magnificent customer service all the way from the font desk to the wonderfully hard working housekeeping staff. I really find it hard not to feel at home when I stay here.

“Great deal - especially for long stays”

Really enjoyed my stay at Desert Rose. I've been going to Vegas on business for years and am over the "scene." This non-casino hotel is excellently located to get around the strip but very quiet and peaceful place to stay. For the price the facilities are excellent - Suites with very useable kitchens and the common areas are pretty nice - good pool and fitness room. For a no-nonsense mini-apartment type place I would highly recommend it. I was there for 5 days and it was nice to be able to stretch out and be able to have some meals in instead of being crammed in a hotel room. Although I was on my own I would think this would be an excellent place for famililes with kids.

“Would stay again...”

As many have written, I wasnt sure what to expect. We were getting a great deal via Shell Vacations. I based my final decison to stay here on many of the reviews I read in tripadvisor. Overall our experience was good. We would stay here again without question. It is a very modest place to stay but is great option if you dont want to stay anywhere on the strip or want the option of having an insuite kitchen for home cooked meals. Von's (Safeway-so bring your card to get the discounts) is 6km down Trop ave.

In the hot summer months like July I would ask for a 2-3rd floor room. There were crickets all over the grounds. While we were there they were doing regular pest control but it only involved the main floor.

The breakfast (free) was okay, nothing special but good considering its free. Be sure to be ther early as food can run out. It can also be quite crowded, but maybe this varies with the time of year?

It took about 10min to walk to the strip. We walked around Hooters until we were on Trop. AVE. We walked this route many times and it wasnt really an issue. FYI- Dan Marino's Restaurant in Hooters-is good. Their sandwiches are huge and can be easily split for two. (esp. Stripdip-prime rib). $9.99 Breakfast buffet was great. Good value for the money.

The only issue I had with the stay was there was 4 of us sharing a 1 bedroom suite to save a few dollars. 2 problematic issues..the first is that in the 1 bedroom suite there is only 1 bathroom that is off the matster bedroom. Hence if you are sharing means sneaking through the bedroom whether the room is occupied or not. The second issue is that I trusted the hotel when I asked if the "sleeper couch" was comfortable....NOT. We even tried removing the mattress and placing it on the floor....still sucked. If the quality of sleep is important to you then upgrade to a 2 bedroom like we did....

Never used the pool....but there were many others.

There is a tiny convenience stool in the main lobby. There are a few things there if you feel inclined to grab a snack

Staff were friendly...and yes this property is very family oriented.

“Desert Rose rocks!”

Desert Rose Resort

Jul 17, 2008

Hurrah for a clean, well located and nice hotel in Las Vegas! No blinking chirping machines, no come ons, no bothersome offers. We were so impressed with the quiet and reserved aspect of our stay at the Desert Rose Resort in Las Vegas - I will never use another hotel in LV. Friendly staff, clean rooms, a nice pool plus a secure atmosphere all contributed to a lovely stay.

“A Toronto Review”

Desert Rose Resort

Jul 16, 2008

Las Vegas ---Nevada-----Desert Rose Resort---July 2008
If Marco Polo in the pool is your thing with the kids then a stay at the Desert Rose in Las Vegas is ideal for you and the family and many kids. The pool was a "must-go" for all the kids at the hotel. The kids loved being at the pool till it closed at 10 or 11 at night. Not to mention the free continental breakfast. The kids devoured as many muffins as they desired. There was only a little bit of screaming, crying and running around in the main lobby area. The suites are worth the price. They were clean and very spacious. I loved the microwave and fridge---came in very handy. The staff were courteous and pilote and always most helpful. The only thing the room needed was ummmmm...... a flat screen TV. Maybe even high def, as well. All in all, I would go back to the Desert Rose for a stay in Vegas. Good, but not great.
