Stayed at the Gardens in 2005 (right before hurricane
Katrina!) and had looked forward to returning every
day since. We finally got our wish last month, and the
Gardens did not disappoint. Everyone on the staff is
wonderful, particularly Cindy and Billy. We missed
the cats that were there in 2005 and were sorry to hear
that they had passed away, but we did enjoy whistling
with Toby and petting the dogs that sometimes found
their way to the pool area. I also loved that the
Gardens went "green" - it is definitely an incentive to
stay there and a testament as to their dedication to
the environment. The music on Sunday was a lot of fun
and not to be missed. The rooms were as beautiful as
ever, and I overheard Kate (the owner) telling
another couple that they were getting brand new beds and
lounge chairs for the pool very soon. I will have to go
back and try them out one day.
The grounds are meticulously maintained,
as is the guest breakfast area. I actually noticed a
guy who polished the salt and pepper shakers every
single time people left their breakfast table, so that
they would be spotless for the next customer. Now that
is attention to detail if I ever saw it!!! Pretty
impressive.
If I were asked if there were anything I would change
about the hotel, I would change 2 things: the
hairdryers in the rooms were really weak. If you have
shoulder length hair or longer, it took an eternity to dry
your hair.
The other thing is that I would add some sort of hot
item (or bacon! that would be perfect!) to the
breakfast buffet, maybe at least once a week, on Sundays or
something.
But that's splitting hairs - I really cannot fault the
Gardens. It is a perfect paradise and the only place
I will ever stay in KW. Thank you for another
wonderful stay!!!
