Thoroughly enjoyed out time in this hotel. It is situation on the main avenue, within walking distance of the pedestrian malls and to numerous restaurants. We walked to the main square, Recolleta and many other sites. Felt that we were in a safe area of the city. The room was quite nice and modern. The breakfast was very good. The staff was helpful and many spoke English quite well. Unfortunately the view from our room was not very nice. That was the only downside to this hotel. Would certainly recommend the Pestana for your stay in Buenos Aires

My wife and I stayed at this 9 de Julio hotel for six nights in early March and again for three nights at the end of March 2006 and had excellent experiences. The rack rate posted is $181.50 US, pricey but the location is extremely central for first time visitors and the window glazing such that on both street side and back side rooms street noise was not a problem. Our first compliment was that we were provided a room by 10 am on our first check-in after an overnight flight from North American, and on check-out before an overnight flight home we were given full access to their pool with showers, lockers, chaises longues, etc. The rooms are average size, the bathroom compact, but everything modern and clean (except the carpet which was badly spotted in both rooms). Our second big compliment was on our return when many staff welcomed us "home" and remembered our prior visit and special needs (tea not cafe con leche at breakfast). If this is in your price range, highly recommended.

Second time to visit Buenos Aires and enjoyed this hotel very much. It is a modern hotel with modern rooms including very nice bathrooms, cable tv, broadband internet, etc. Very clean with very good service. The staff was always great and helpful. Reception staff speaks english. This is a very good quality hotel. Location is also very good in the heart of the city. Can't comment on the price as the company paid but I imagine it's in the higher part of the range. There are other hotels in the city regarded more highly (and probably with the room rate to match) but they won't beat out this hotel by much.
