Business serviceWe've just returned from a wonderful week in Buenos Aires at the Sofitel. It´s one of the most beautiful Hotels we´ve ever been. Everyone was so nice.
The restaurant was great, the food was lovely and the service quite efficent and very friendly.
It was such a good experience. We really hope to come back next year.

Business serviceOverall: Very comfortable and tasteful with great service; we used the Sofitel as our base to explore Buenos Aires on a recent one week vacation. Atmosphere was a nice mix of tourists and business people.
Room: We stayed in two different rooms over the course of a several night stay -- both were standard rooms. Of the hotel's standard rooms, the larger rooms with king beds are on lower floors and darker without views; smaller rooms with queen beds are on higher floors with much more light. We preferred the higher floor room even though it was smaller because of the views/light and the fact that we were one of only 4 rooms on the floor; it felt somewhat like a private apartment. The bathrooms were quite nice with separate bath and shower (although shower area was small by US standards). Roger & Gallet products were heavily scented (not our taste). Great beds, clean, quiet. Satellite TV (tube TV in our lower floor room and LCD in our higher floor room).
Service: Professional, very helpful, especially fantastic concierges who were well-informed and had good recommendations which seemed consistent with those of other travelers and friends. We talked to them for recommendations on restaurants and a tango show, as well as transportation options to different neighborhoods we planned on exploring.
Location: The hotel feels nicely tucked away on the small street, across from some small art galleries. Central location, close to subte (subway), walking distance from some nice restaurants, easy to get radio taxis called by the hotel. It had the feel of staying in an intimate, nice neighborhood rather than a tourist location.
Fitness center: Just one treadmill and one bike along with some weights and exercise mats. Not great but serviceable. TV in corner (no personal screens or headsets). Small pool. Overwhelming scented vanilla candle smell when you enter the floor.

ServiceMy husband and I stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights, prior to a cruise around the Horn. I had researched hotels, had written a few, and finally booked through Tablet Hotels, who only recommend the very best. They called it "Traditional Elegance" and gave it 19 out of 20 points. I can't imagine what the missing point was for.
We were picked up at the airport by a limousine service hired by the hotel, and given the registration forms to fill out on our way to the hotel. Although we arrived in the AM, one of our rooms was ready. We had booked two connecting rooms and they were perfect, with a foyer between the rooms and an outside locking door to the hall.
We lacked for nothing: free internet(we had our own laptop), marble bathrooms, Roger y Galet amenities, a separate shower and bathtub, free breakfast and wonderful, friendly employees, especially the front desk, concierge Pablo, and the bellboys.
We had drinks in the bar before dinner and fell in love with Pisco Sours. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Le Sud, two nights and went to a dinner/tango show at El Querendi the third night. It was fantastic--both food and show.
Our best purchase in Buenos Aires was going to Silvia y Mario's to purchase leather coats. They are the best! We both got lamb jackets--mine had to be made which they do overnight, and my husband had an inside zipper put in his. Both were ready by 1 PM the next day. And they wanted to be paid in cash or personal check, if possible.
We wished we had stayed at least one more day in Buenos Aires, and would definitely stay at the Sofitel.
