found most of the staff to be rude ,drinks was always warm food same day in day out .dont use the doctor ,you get riped off .the rooms was lovely at this hotel .wont be going back will stay some where different its never seen 5 stars

We booked this hotel for my 40th as a birthday present, and was a bit unsure having read some mixed reviews

However, we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived in the early hours of the morning . Bell boy took our cases up for us, just as well - we were so tired.

The room was spacious and very clean and overlooking the pool. Rooms was cleaned every day and fresh towels changed daily. The pool was lovely and a welcome relief as temps soared well into 40 degrees +. Nice pool bar too,. It iwas so nice to sit at the bar having a beer whilst still in the pool..

Food in the restaurant was ok It was hot and plentiful & there was fair amount of choice. I have to say to those people who were complaining - it's not that bad at all. - what are you expecting The Ritz, ?? They must be well fussy.

There is a nice rooftop terrace, only open in the evenings, where they had entertainment But to be honest It was really nice just to sit on the veranda watching the world go by. Entertainmentt ok, nothing special but at least something going on each night.

Staff were friendly and very welcoming, On the day of my birthday they sent up a cake for me, Thought that was very nice touch.

Location was supurb, loads of restaurants , bars and shopping right on your doorstep. Something for everyone !!! You do get hasselled if you go up the road past KFC, but the main King Barhain Street is ok.

A couple of tips,

If you tip the pool guy who puts out your towels - then every day he will make sure you get the sunbed you want. Also tip Hanni thel bar man at the pool. He will refill your glass everytime it's empty and in the mornings when he sees you coming down to your lounger, he runs over with your drinks. He knew exactly what we had every day. Coke in the morning, a beer at lunch time and then a cocktail later in the day. Top bloke.

We tipped them both £2 a day, if you do that - they will really look after you.

If any shop owners ask you to come into thier shop to write something in English, it is just to get you in there - keep walking.

Places to visit is the Camel Bar, nice view from the roof terrace and also try the Tandori restaurant next door.

The Tavern Bar, getting to it is like running the gauntlet , all the shop owners trying to get you into their shops- but nice little sports bar..

Also take a taxi to El Fanar, fantastic snorkling, nice restaurant and lovely views over the bay.

Enjoy, can't wait to go back next year.

Just returned from tropitel hotel gd location, room clean but thats about it staff are really ignorant especially ahmed, hassan and the waiters, i was all inclusive, the drinks consisted of soft drinks gin wisky or rum which were disgusting and it was a moan to get a drink also the food was the same for 14 nights fish beef or pasta the pool never got cleaned the lifts never worked most of the people in hotel had diarhoea and stomach cramps dont no if it was the food,pool or the heat the hotel is not for kids the male staff always annoy them asking for kisses etc and also no concern about safety if glasses smash or drinks spilled they dont bother getting it cleaned up pool toilet never got cleaned never had paper tissues or anything at the pool u had to watch when coming out of water as if you stood on the white mesh you would put your feet through it the waiter hanny at pool bar was worst waiter you could every meet only thing would like to say is the lifeguard/ towel man at the pool and the cleaner were really nice.

stayed at tropitel for 2 weeks hotel clean staff very helpful/ friendly weather was very hot didnt do any trips just chilled pool ok but no snacks unless u paid we were ai u could use other pools on top of hotel we didnt because my husband had motorbike accident 3 days before we went! he wasnt very mobile 1st week had tummy bug pretty bad with no warning all 4 of us had it at different times local chemists were good just 2 mins away needed antibiotics/diarrohea tablets £7.50 stomach cramps really bad ok after 24 hours didnt like pressure selling by shops trying to get you inside found quite intimidating/
scary so avoided as much as possibe were told by other guests if you uncomfortable with a situ with them tell you going for tourist policethey soon back off tourist police on all hotel doors and in street this hotel was best location very central buddha next door also mexican hard rock cafe opposite not alot of english people in our hotel tipping couple pounds every few days got all beds at pool every day room cleaners try it on by leaving t rolls or towels out of room so they bring at your request and want tip! we tipped maybe 4 times in 2 weeks that was enough and they were ok only male workers in hotel talking to others guests we paid more booking at travel agents they booked through internet or teletext and got approx £200 cheaper than us overall good hol suits all age groups bit too hot for us enjoy your hols ours just memory now!
