Hilton Waterfalls is a fantastic hotel but this is because the majority of staff are very good rather than the standard of accommodation. We were in a King Double Sea view, we didnt book this but we were upgraded on arrival so dont pay extra through the travel agent for a Sea View room as you may get one anyway!
Room had great view but was very poorly decorated and in serious need of an upgrade. As did many of the general areas, the pool has tiles missing and the Spa is very run down.
We stayed on a B&B basis and I am glad we did, on the first night we ate in the buffet restaurant, where those people on HB and FB eat. The food was quite poor quality and I can imagine gets a little boring. Breakfast was OK, not great, you won't find bacon or pork sausages as this is a muslim country, but there were chicken sausages and plenty of eggs. Croissants were lovely and you could have cheese and salad with them.
For lunch there is very little choice if you dont want to eat in the main restaurant and it is quite expensive. Room service is excellent and the food exceptional, not sure why they cant offer this range of choice else where!
The Italian is fabulous and great value (2 people with wine, 3 courses £45), the selection and preperation is worthy of some good Italian london restaurants where you would pay over £100. Not the best place for atmosphere but is ok...Massage in the spa was great, don't book the 'Cleopatra' it is a bit of a con and for 90Euros not worth it. The guy selling the massages etc can be pushy which is a bit annoying.
Snorkelling/diving is amazing, and the house reef very good. Probably the best thing about the hotel!
Naama bay is nice for a few drinks and to eat. Some nice places and it is less intimidating than I remembered a few years ago. We came here most nights as the hotel is quite quiet and if you want a few drinks a bit boring.
All in all fantastic holiday, probably wouldn't stay at the Hilton again but the service and staff are very good.
