“Fantasic Value for Money”

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 day break at the Sultan Gardens and were hard pressed to fault it. Of course if you looked hard enough you could find a few areas with room for improvement but overall it was superb value for money.
The slection of food was really good and you could always find something to suit your taste. The service in all resturants was very good.
The rooms were very clean and clean towels every day was a nice touch. We stayed in rooms 166 and 168, super views.
The beach was good with a very good reef so snorkeling is excellant. The beach staff were very good, special thanks to Muhamed Ali.
As for sunbeds with shade, we had no problem. You could still find plenty at 9.00am, so i would suggest that if having one is important to you get up and enjoy the day instead of laying in bed all morning then still expecting to find some.
Finaly i would like to say that when reading some of the reviews i was a little put off and worried that we had made the wrong choice. I now know that we didnt and these people writing bad reviews should go and pay to stay at the 4 Seasons. They would soon moan then.
Thankyou Basel and a big thanks to all your staff for a memorable holiday.

we (4 adults) have recently returned from holiday at Sultan Gardens and must say that it was an excellent holiday. We did AI and must say it was very good. The resort is very large so most of the time you don't feel that everyone is living on top of each other. We were there for 2 weeks, and although towards the end the food was becoming to be a bit repetitative, overall it was very good and the selection was enough to suit every taste. (don't forget Egypt is a muslim country so Pork isn't on the menu) The waiters were very friendly and we found that if you tip one (only a quid or two) then he would make sure you have a table and keep you supplied in drinks. (We focused on one guy for the two weeks and he looked after us the whole time) Remember these guys don't earn a lot so what might not seem a lot to us, can seem a lot to them so tipping goes a long way, something they don't get from the Russians!. We found tipping elsewhere around the resort made for a more pleasant and relaxing holiday as the guys were prepared to go out of their way to help. The pools are large and clean, plenty of sunbeds but shade is a premium, we found one of us had to get up early to reserve some shade (felt a bit like a German!) The AI concept was very good, you can eat and drink for most of the day and the drinks were very pallatable, especially the red wine! (hic).

Rooms were fine except the bathrooms could do with a bit of updating as they were starting to look a bit tired, but saying that work was alway being done around the resort to improve things (without intruding on everyones holiday), as we were told it's a matter of priorities as the resort runs 365 days of the year.

Again, excellent staff, very friendly and I would just like to say where else would you find the owner/manager (Basel Khedr) picking up glasses etc as he's walking round, He's also very helpful, as he helped my friend and I book a round of golf at the local golf course, and that goes for all his staff... Basel you should pay them more!!

The only downside to the holiday was the Russians, an underlying theme throughout hotels in Egpypt because they seem to be taking over, but they are so ignorant. They push in as meal times, wont even say please or thank you to staff and on one occasion even tried to nick our shade by the pool! - Just give as good as you get...

Finally - I'd go back without a doubt

“Our return to paradise, Sultan Gardens rules OK !!”

We have just returned from our second stay at this lovely resort, we were absolutley spoilt last year everything was as we had hoped and more, and because of this booked immediately we got home to return this year. \we were not disappointed, the staff all remembered us and made such a fuss, it was like returning to stay with family.

I have read and digested the negative reports posted on this site, and can only assume that these people must be very hard to please and wonder if any standard would be acceptable to them.

We are of mature years and seasoned travellers, and well accustomed to the "all inclusive" way of holidays. This resort offers all that can be expected from these deals. The rooms are very spacious, we have stayed both in a room and a suite, the cleaning staff are keen and efficient, the room was kept spotlessly clean and the towels changed every day. There is now the added benefit of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. lovely when you can have a cuppa in the morning without leaving the room. The food on offer in the restaurant is very varied and always were we able to find something to suit us, my husband is a very plain eater when it comes to food, and he agrees that this is the best choice he has had from all our travels. The cakes and sweets are to die for as my waist will testify.

The resort has four pools to cater for every need. The main large pool area with two pools, the childrens pool area with water slide and shallow area, and the one we favoured the quiet relaxing pool, where noise was kept to a minimum and no music, so every taste and need is catered for.

The beach area is clean and supplied with many sunbeds and shades. Clean towels for the beach or pool areas are provided every day, so no need to take up your wieght allowance carting out beach towels. The garden areas around the accommodation are beautiful and well kept, gardeners are in evidence constantly and we feel sure through the night, to keep the standard that is provided.

As for the staff, well where do I begin, they will do everything to make your stay a good one and are so friendly and helpful is amazing to experience. We feel we have made many friends at Sultan Gardens, from the bar staff, to restaruant waiters, cleaners, reception staff and even the gardeners.

Food is provided throughout the day at the pool and beach areas and this is in plentiful supply and very very acceptable. For a change there is the added advantage of the Italian Restaruant, or the Seafood Restaurant.

A bus service is provided throughtout the day to ferry you all around the resort. The management will provide a transfer service to and from the airport, free of charge, which is reliable and efficient.

They further offer a free bus service into Namma Bay (The local shopping/night club area) twice daily.

When we stayed last year there were not many English people at the hotel, although this was not a problem for us, it was nice to see on our return that there are now many more English people discovering this little piece of paradise, I was keen to hear their impressions and did not receive one negative opinion from the people that I spoke to during my stay. The best recommendation is definately word of mouth, and the general opinion was one of great satisfaction with all aspects of what this hotel has to offer.

The management team use a total hands on approach to their guests and are keen to hear any comments they listen and do in fact take on board any reasonable comments which may add to improve the facilities and do in fact act on them.

I would have thought that you could not improve on perfection, but Sultan Gardens has proved that you can, and the little added touches we experienced on our return were wonderful.

After two 14 day visits we cannot find any fault with this hotel and would strongly recommend it. We will most certainly be returning to visit our lovely egyptian family again, I would return tomorrow if that were possible. I simply do not know what more they can do to make your holiday an enjoyable one.

Basel and staff --- See your all next year. Marie & John XX

“Very Good But Not 5 Star”

Just returned from a nice relaxing break at the SG. As mentioned earlier if you want an all action holiday you may want to go somewhere else but if you want to just chill you cant go wrong here.

We never made it to the pool until around 11.30am and never managed to get a sunbed all week so we went to the beach every day as beds became available usually early afternoon and the nice breeze kept you cooler. We never saw the policy of not reserving sunbeds with your towels enforced.

The staff are very friendly and well trained, they could not do enough for you.

Even though both my wife and I got the dreaded tummy bug even though we were careful what we ate and drank I have to say the food was good if a little bland sometimes with plenty of choice. There was always something on that we both liked. On our first night there they had nicely cooked steak on which was very good. We also enjoyed the Italian restaurant which you have to book

The spirits were just ok, but the beer (lager) was very dissapointing. It was on draught and if you are used to premium beers like stella, heineken, carlsberg export or similar you will dissapoined as it reminded me of the 2% stuff you can get in Asda at 4 tinnies for 99p (very fizzy) You could drink it all day and not feel tipsy.

We were really impressed with the gardens and pool area`s as they were very nice and very clean

Due to having a 6 hour flight delay we were delighted to see the pick up service there to greet us, but dissapointed when we got to the hotel at 00.10 and they did not offer us a drink even though we had missed a whole night of all inclusive and told we could buy some at the bar which we did

You will hear building work in some parts of the resort as there is work going on each side. We were woken each morning by it but it was`nt too bad

I know I have had a bit of a moan here but it really is a good hotel overall. I would rate our room only a 3 star ( bathroom needs up dating) and every thing else a 4 star. If you want true 5 star luxury then go elsewhere and pay double/triple the amount of money you will pay to stop here

This hotel is very good value for money and I would recommend it
