We stayed at Allson Hotel for four nights as part of a Singapore Airlines Stopover holiday, after researching reviews for many hotels on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. Most of the rooms have been renovated fairly recently and furniture and fittings were quite new and good quality. Our room and ensuite (nonsmoking on 12th floor) were spacious, clean and comfortable; no intruding noise from outside at night. There was a safe in room. Hotel's location, near Raffles Hotel, was excellent, with cheap eating close by; especially liked nearby Bugis Street market for food/shopping. We mainly made use of Singapore Stopover Hop On/Hop Off bus (free to Stopover customers, and a small charge for others) which we caught outside Raffles Hotel. Five minute walk to either Bugis MRT or City Hall MRT. (Mass Rapid Transport). 1.00 pm checkout from hotel. Staff willing to mind baggage behind front desk as we had 9.00 pm flight, and very much appreciated being able to access showers in pool area after checkout time before our flight. Concierage and his staff, in particular, were very pleasant and helpful. As part of the Singapore Stopover Holiday, we thought it good value for money and would stay there again.

It's all about Location, Location, Location. The Allson sits bang in the middle, easily accesible to all attractions.
Not the best hotel in the world, but we went to Singapore to explore, not to sit in a Luxury hotel. This is one of these hotels that is okay to use as a base, clean, decent breakfast & top location. It has a pool to cool down in after a day of walking. Next door is an eating & drinking place, open 24Hr with cheap food & cheap drink. Yes, drinking is not a cheap sport in Singapore! Further down the road is Brecko restaurant, across the road is Bugis Junction MRT. Location.

We stayed in this hotel for four days. We found it very comfortable. The room and the washroom are decent size.
The hotel is on a very central location. There are lots of restaurants, grocery stores and malls around the hotel. We actually stocked milk and snacks from this store called Cold storage locatred in the Bugis junction mall. Bugis street, Arab street, Boat quay, etc are all on a walking distnce. Bugis MRT station is two minutes walk. The only bad thing about the hotel is that if you have lots of luggage, you will have to carry it 4-5 stares from the hotel enterance to the elevator, where it can be loaded on the trolley, but the porter can help you with that. Also, the hotel reception is located on the second floor, not at the entrance. But these are minot things. Overall the hotel is good in its range.

Stayed here for 2 nights at at the start of my holiday and another 2 nights at the end. It was part of a Singapore Stopover deal offered by Singapore airlines. Found the hotel to be ideal as a base to explore Singapore, it's probably not as fancy as some but as we spent so little time there it really didn't matter.
Our room was a good size, clean and comfy. We had breakfast in the hotel our first morning as we got a 50% discount but the selection wasn't very good, so we didn't eat there again.
The hotel is just round the corner from Raffles who do a great breakfast deal of fruit juice, choice of pastry and tea or coffee for S$7 in their cafe. Another alternative is the Dome cafe which is just down the road from the hotel.
If you like walking you can easily walk to Clarke Quay and Orchard Road from the hotel.
The staff were very friendly especially Mervyn the chief concierge who helped organise our duck tour which was part of the Singapore stopover package and even arranged for us to be picked up. One of the tour desk guys was a bit pushy and tried to sell us tours, but we did our own thing.
