We stayed in the Mandarin Oriental on our way back to Australia from Europe. This was a third visit to this Hotel and frankly it would be difficult to convince ourselevs to stay anywhere else in singapore. We have stayed in the club rooms each time and find service provided to club guests second to none. The club rooms perhaps need a little updating but are otherwise clean modern and all you would expect from this class of hotel. The location is also superb with access to Marina Square Mall and subsequently the malls linked to this. Prices have risen significantly in recent years but watch out for special deals with bonus free nights. Highly Recommended.

The hotel is right within walking distance of the Arts complex ('The Durian'), and near a number of other high end hotels. It's not far to walk to the nearest underground station (through the shopping complex next door), we became fairly expert at this route!

As you would expect from the Mandarin Oriental chain, the service is excellent, and the rooms are well specified (very clean and tidy, excellent room service). The bathroom had a separate bath and shower, and the toiletries were replenished twice daily (also complimentary bottled water was provided twice daily - in fact they tidied the room twice daily).

Our room had a view over the pool area, and we could see the bay in the distance. We took advantage of the cocktail happy hour at the bar (?Jack's?), and fell in love with Lychitinis (or however you spell it). We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, although I'm sure it would have been excellent; Singapore has some excellent food, and you won't be short on choice (assuming you like South and East Asian fare of course!)

We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for one night on the way back from our honeymoon in Bali. The hotel is very impressive, we stayed in a club room on the top floor, the room was excellent, huge bed, luxury bathroom, imaculately clean. As we were on the club floor we had the use of the club lounge on the floor below, this was where our breakfast was served - you could have champagne with breakfast, they were bottles on ice alongside the juices. it had an amazing view of the city & you could go in there any time & help yourself to sanwiches, soft drinks, tea / cofee & cakes etc (we were only upgraded to club facilities as we were on honeymoon - we're not usually that extravagant !). The service in the hotel is second to none, you could call down to housekeeping for clean towels etc at any time & we were automatically offered check out at 8pm as our flight was not until midnight, you get the feeling that whatever you wanted if it was possible to get it or do it for you they would ! However we have to say that we felt although the service was superb & the staff ultra polite there is something a little impersonal about this hotel - its as if they expect a certain type of guest, not ordinary people like us. We commented that although the hotel was fantastic you could use the phrase "style over substance", think hotel babylon, lol ! However for one night it was a great experience & one which I would be more than happy to repeat, lol. We even got a glass of champagne while we were sat checking out......back to reality now !

We stayed at the M O for 4 nights at the start of our honeymoon. On arrival we were upgraded to a harbour view room with a huge picture window, with views over the business district, the harbour and the Merlion statue. Staff were helpful throughout, and couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable.
