What an amazing day! Myself and 3 friends decided to celebrate Australia Day with Captain Mark and his crew and boy are we glad we did! The day started at 8am with an on time pick up from our hotel and we headed out to the pier to meet the Sakai. When we arrived we all loaded into a rather unseaworthy looking red boat (which turned out to be extremely seaworthy even when Mark and his wonderful chef were doing burnouts on the water) which carried us to the beautiful yellow yacht. We all hopped aboard and waited for our Captain to arrive. Captain Mark - a jovial friendly and extremely hospitable Captain introduced us to his wonderful crew and we got underway. As we set off we were offered fresh fruit and some homemade sweets. It didn't take long and the boys had started their first beers and we had the most wonderful chicken drumettes to nibble on. When we polished them off (it took about 3 minutes because they were so delicious) there was another tray. We chatted to Mark and enjoyed the scenery all the way to the caves and hongs (lagoons). When we arrived, Mark took great care to stay away from other tour operators which was fantastic because you felt like you had the entire bay to yourself. We took the red boat into the caves which were full of the most gorgeous rocks, colours and formations I have ever seen. We explored and took so many photos there were too many beautiful spots to mention! After we had finished our exploring we all hopped off on our own private beach for a swim in the warm water. This is where we had lunch, the most delicious curry and prawns that were freshly bought from a local fisherman on the water. We stayed on the beach for a while and Mark was very flexible allowing us to spend as much time as we wanted at every location. After lunch we did some more exploring and then started to head back. There was a little wind and Mark decided that we should sail part of the way. Us girls put up the sail while the boys took it very easy and then we sun baked on the nose all of the way home eating fresh watermelon, cheese and crackers and even chocolate. We even saw a flying sting ray which was very exciting. I would recommend this day to everyone it is much better than any tour we have ever done and the food is fantastic, the crew wonderful and we were so relaxed it was amazing. Thanks Mark for a wonderful time and I hope to see you again next time we are in phuket.
