“Nice hotel”

FuramaXclusive Sukhumvit

I booked this hotel on their website in April two days before arrival and paid 2900 Baht/night for a double room including breakfast. I really liked the room and the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite large and the furnishings were new. Bed was comfortable. They also had nice extras in the room such as a DVD player, a stereo, umbrella, dressing gowns, hairdryer and microwave oven (see photos). The hotel is in the Sukhumvit area on Soi 1, across from Bumrungrad hospital and is a 10 minute walk to Ploen Chit sky train. Unlike some sois down the road there are no girlie bars or brothels (at least I haven't seen any) and the hotel clientele do not look at all like sex tourists (unlike at some other hotels we've stayed in this area). I highly recommend this hotel.

“Very good value for money”

I arrived at the Unico Grande following a short stay at another hotel in Bangkok - a four star where every service had a significant cost implication. By contrast, the Unico Grande provided practically the same facilities at half the price. The hotel was impeccably clean and well maintained. The location was extremely convenient - within five minutes walk from the Sky Train. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The room was spacious and comfortable. Food was fine. Gym and pool facilities were small but adequate. Free internet services were provided (compared to a cost of 190 Baht for 15 minutes at the previous hotel in which I stayed).

Unico Grande was a welcome surprise for me and I would not hesitate to return to this hotel if back in Bangkok in future.

“Luxury Wannabe without Pretension”

FuramaXclusive Sukhumvit

From the outside it looks like a mediocre hotel, but once you step inside, it's a pleasant surprise. From the moment you're served iced teas while checking in, seated on padded benches, you know this isn't an ordinary hotel.

The room is beautifully decorated, and includes a settee/chaise and a kitchen with microwave--though I can't fathom why one would need to use it, given the food choices available in the city. The floors are marble-like and not the most comfortable, though. There is a large half-sized refrigerator/mini-bar which is somewhat noisy. There is also wired internet access. The view is horrible, though--a parking garage and inside some homes.

The hot water in the bathroom is both difficult to control (there is a nearly one minute delayed reaction) and of limited quantity.

Breakfast is somewhat random and of average quality.

There is a travel agent in the lobby who can arrange private or group tours.

The hotel is a short walk down busy soi 1 from Sukhumvit. Note that it is opposite Bumrungrad Hospital, which is apparently an extremely popular tourism hospital. This also means there are a large number of convenience stores and excellent street vendors always nearby, which are patronized by the many local nurses. The elevated train (not a monorail) station Phloen Chit is nearby on Sukhumvit.

Overall, this isn't quite a luxury hotel, though it seems to want to be. Sometimes there's a doorman, and sometimes there's an elevator attendant. Other times, they are missing. The little touches, like fresh fruit delivered to your room sure are welcoming, though.

“Great 1st night in Bangkok”

We needed a hotel to stay in for one night on the right side of Bangkok for the airport and a friend suggested Sukhumvit Rd. Then through a combination of tripadvisor and hotel booking sites I came across this hotel. It's right at the top of Sukhumvit- Soi 1, and really close to a sytrain station which is a excellent way to get around parts of the city. It was a short stay, but I would have nothing bad to say about the hotel. The room was large and clean with TV, safe and the usual free water. Breakfast was a good mix of everything. I would agree with other reviews that it's not the easiest for taxi drivers to find, printing of the map and telling them it's Soi 1would be advisable.

“Loved it!”

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. I really looked forward to a nice and clean room as shown in the hotel website and i did! what you see is what you get! Loved the bed, TV, sofa and mini table. There is Hansa Spa and healthcare down the street (2 mins walk) for a completely relaxing massage/body scrub for a reasonable price.... Highly recommended! Only problem is the walk to the BTS station, is about 10mins. Room service was pretty fast and the cost of the food in the hotel was reasonable too. You can practically find food in every street of this area. Stay here!
