We booked well in advance direct with the hotel for an 8-nights stay in November 2006. At that time it was hard to find reviews about this property. There was only one and this writer found the rooms had a tired décor, so we were a little bit worried about our choice.
With our correspondence with the hotel we also booked airport transfer. This cost 1400 THB (app. 40 US), on the airport you can book limousine transfer for about 1000 THB, but when we arrive very tired after a long flight we always think that it is nicer if someone awaits you with your name and take care of all the hustle. (If you take a taxi, this hotel will be difficult to find. During our stay we had a card with the name and plan in Thai and even than it was sometimes hard for a taxi driver to know the street and hotel.)
The driver was already waiting for us when we arrived and transfer went smooth. The entrance of the hotel is very luxurious. We were given an suite on the 15th floor. This 2-room apartment is very spacious; it is really 97 m2! There is a full kitchen, a large sitting area, dining area, huge balcony, super king bed in the bedroom, separate wardrobe section, large bathroom, everything in very good condition. We were looking for some weary items, but couldn’t find anything. The carpet was clean, so was every other piece of furniture. Most of the items were made of solid wood. Yes, there were some scratches on the kitchen doors and some stainless steel items in the bathroom were not brand-new. But these are really minor things and overall we found it very luxury and were extremely happy about our suite!
If you are a sunbather, there is sun around the swimming pool until about 11:00 a.m. We didn’t mind the shade after that, for us it was too hot anyhow to lay in the sun in the afternoon.
The breakfast is very good; it is buffet and has a large choice. We had the diner buffet once and found this somewhat less; the a la carte menu is better. The room service is excellent, not expensive at all and we had many diners in our own apartment. We always took about 4-5 different Thai dishes and tried almost any Thai item on the menu. Everything was superb!
There is a small shop inside and outside you will find a 7-eleven for your drinks and so. (Walk out, turn right and at the end of the street turn left, go on and you will find the 7-eleven on the corner.) Using the computer in the business center is very expensive, but outside you will find many Internet shops for only 10% of the hotel Internet rate. (You will find one just round the corner of the 7-eleven.)
The metro is an 8-10 minute walk, the Lumpini Night market about 10-12. Taxis are not expensive, but most of the times you will stand still or drive slowly, due to traffic jam.
The service of the staff is outstanding. They will assist you with everything, from finding tours to directions to shopping malls etc. No matter how many phone calls they make, they don’t charge you anything. They also arranged transfer for us to Hua Hin, this was in a so-called VIP taxi, very comfortable and not more expensive than with a normal taxi. In Hua Hin we also mailed Pantip Court to arrange the same car and driver for our return transfer from Hua Hin to the airport. They took also care of this request. So, we can truly recommend the suite and staff of Pantip Court for a stay in Bangkok!!!
