“Good Hotel”

Century Park Hotel

large modern hotel, 21 storeys so the higher rooms have good views over Bangkok. Nice pool and fitness area on the 5th floor.

Very Nice italian resturanton the 2nd floor, also a buffet style restaurant on the ground floor, we did not try this one but the food looked good and the menu large and varied so should cater for all tastes.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Location: we only stayed for one night but did not seem to be much in the way of bars and resturants near to the hotel so you may have get a cab or the skytrain to another area if you are looking for nightlife. Skytrain is 10 mins walk and cabs and tut tut's are readily availible so not really a problem.

“Great Value for the Rooms”

I stayed at the Century Park for three nights with family to tour Bangkok. After arriving at the hotel, we were immediatly impressed by the valet service, quick check-in, and beautiful lobby area. The rooms were fairly nice, one nice feature were the bay windows, allowing for a view of the temple behind the hotel and a modest view of the city. We used the hotel's tour desk to arrange two separate tours and I was very pleased with that service - we booked our seats the night before and the transportation met us in the lobby the next morning. One word of caution, though, would be not to use any other of the hotel's services. Our first night out, after reading several warnings in the literature in the room as well as a warning from the bellman, we were advised not to use any taxi except those from the hotel (for fear of being "ripped off" by any other service). So the hotel's taxi took us to a restruant they recommended, which was very nice but not a good value and even more expensive than the hotel's restraunt. Our return trip with a free-lance taxi confirmed that they were indeed cheaper and just as reliable than the hotel's recommended taxi. Also, there are several great authentic restraunts, as well as an economical massage studio down the street from the hotel (the massage studio in the hotel is very nice but about twice the price from the one down the street). One last note, though, the pool at the Century Park was incredible - located on the roof of an upper floor, with lush landscaping, great bar, and a great view.

    • Disliked — Prices at restraunt, massage studio, taxis

“Luxury at an Affordable Price”

Century Park Hotel

Bangkok is an interesting city full of awesome historical sites, bargain shopping and delicious food. For our 3 night/4 day visit in December 2007, my husband and I stayed at the Century Park in Pratuman (9 Ratchaprarop Road, Pratunam-Victory Monument Bangkok).

Checking in at 1:00am was a breeze - The front desk was very accommodating and efficient and we were greeted by warm smiles. Our room was clean, spacious - tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was clean with a tub and shower stall, hairdryer and the usual toiletries. We noticed a problem with our toilet flush and called front desk early the next morning - our concerns were immediately addressed and we had a plumber that fixed the problem in about 10 minutes total. Great service!

We also had an in-room safe and a minibar with complementary water bottles each day. Our room Air-Conditioning was a welcome relief after hot, muggy days touring the city.

Our accommodations included a daily breakfast buffet that was totally delectable. Their spread had both western and Asian varieties to satisfy everyone's cravings! From various tropical fruits and juices, to breads, pastries, cheeses and spreads, cereal, eggs, meats, pancakes/waffles, rice, noodles, dim sum, congee...and the list goes on and on. They even had made to order cappuccino! Breakfast was served from 7am-10am.

Though hotel description says they are walking distance to the BTS, it is quite a challenge to get there. We tried it once, and we got so tired and sweaty that we decided to take taxis everywhere we went. Taxis are very affordable, we paid anywhere from $2.00-8.00 USD to get us from the hotel to different tourist sites and shopping. Helpful information - Taxi from and to the Airport is about 350-400 Baht ONLY! That's about $12-13 USD. Remember to always ask the driver to use his taxi meter.

There is a Foot Massage Salon by the side of the hotel's driveway - it is a great bargain and such a relaxing treat after a whole day of sight-seeing. Walk down towards the street and turn right - it will be one of the establishments along the road. An internet cafe is also available in that area. The hotel's rate for internet use is rather expensive.

I would highly recommend the Century Park in Bangkok. We had 4 star hotel service/accommodation for a 2 star hotel price from Asia Rooms.com. Hotel staff was pleasant, accommodating and forever with a smile.

We stayed 3 nights at the Century Park as part of a quick package from Manilla (via PAL). Great breakfast & Pool/Gym facilities. Rooms were relatively large and clean. Folks need to ponder the location. If you want to walk out of the hotel and be in a prime tourist or attraction area, this is not for you. We liked it, as it gives you a chance to wander some of the neighborhood streets without bumbing into other tourists every other step. The skytrain was a quick 10 minute walk and taxis are relatively cheap. Great city, the only downer was the smog. ....

After staying at a lovely resort a phuket we were a little dissapointed with our room but I guess you get what you pay for. Our initial room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke and we had to ask to be moved.

The only room they had left had two single beds. In honesty the room was clean and tidy but old and dated. It is the type of room I would use for a business trip. The shower also leaked everywhere.

On a positive note the staff were polite and efficent and had a good command of english. The foyer area is pleasant and the pool looked ok.

I could not comment on the breakfast as we had to check out to catch our flight 1/2 hour before the buffet was open.

I would posibly use this room for a basic stop over again but if you want to hang around the hotel for more than a few days this is not the hotel to choose.
