Fantastic location, right next to MBK shopping mall.

The hotel is great, I don't know if we were upgraded or not, but if we had a standard room, my god it was exceptional. The room was huge, with huge everything: bed, sofa, bathroom.

Lovely view of Bangkok with wall to floor windows and wall to wall windows giving a 180 degree view.

Breakfast fantastic, the selection was huge and FRESH and replenished all the time and everything was cooked in front of you, no cook it out the back and then put it in the warmer in the restaurant area.

Reception is air conditioned which makes a change from a lot hotels in Thailand!

Good pool area and spas. Not really utilised by guests (which is a good thing!) so the staff are really attentive when guests are out (changing towels, checking on drinks etc)

Great location, would definately stay here again and recommend to everyone.

My husband and I stayed at the Pathumwan Princess for five nights in April. We booked our room through Asia Rooms, make sure when you do this you call the hotel a couple of days prior to arriving as we paid for a Deluxe but had been booked into Superior. When we arrived late at night check in was very efficient but we were given a room with 2 double beds when we did request a king size, through Asia Rooms. We stayed in this room for one night and we were allocated a king size room on the 22nd floor the following morning, which was excellent. I cannot fault this hotel, customer service was great, we enjoyed eating in the hotel and spent a couple of nice afternoons by the pool. The hotel is ideally located right next to the MBK and the skytrain, we travelled around as much as we could on the skytrain as the traffic is shocking in Bangkok. Overall we had a great time in Bangkok and really enjoyed staying at the Pathumwan Princess.

We stayed at the Pathumwan Princess in March and April whilst en route to Phi Phi. This Hotel was chosen based on the reviews read here on trip advisor, and there not wrong. This is a fantastic hotel, with the best 5 star quality service at 4 star prices.

The hotel staff, from door staff to reception and even the lady that cleaned our room, were very helpful and freindly. If you want to experience the crazyness of Bangkok, however with a great hotel to escape back too then this is the place.

During our extended trip my partner was ill (Only ear ache!), the hotel went out of their way to help, like holding our room until we wanted to leave, providing nurse assistance, and 'Get Well' flowers etc etc. I never usually write reveiws, however i was so impressed with this hotel and the way the staff treated us, they deserve all the good reviews they get.

I would comment that regards to any poor reviews on trip advisor must have totally misunderstood the rest of the reviews. This is a great 4 star hotel, and a great price, if you are expecting a 5 star hotel you will be dissapointed. If your expecting the Oriental, then pay the price. Frankly i loved the way this hotel was smart, friendly, and not stuffy. i.e. no formal dress was required, and it felt like a genuine home from home stay. we ended up staying and extra 5 nights here and will definately be coming back.

We stayed in the Exec Plus Suite which is massive, 5 rooms in total, and all for under £100 p/n. Make sure you ask for the pool view rooms as the city view isn't as interesting. The free breakfast which comes with this room type is also great.

All the other comments regarding location, shopping etc is 100% accurate, brilliant location.

Modern hotel in an excellent location. Located adjacent to MBK shopping mall, which housed thousands of stores and ideal for just popping out for "a walk" without having to get into the hot 38 degree weather.
Only problem is most of the shops shut at 10pm and therefore you would need to get into a taxi to go out in search of nightlife.
Rooms clean and more than adequate for needs. Excellent pool and two juccuzi's at different temperatures. Great breakfast buffet.
About 10 minute walk through MBK center to the National stadium skytrain station.
Easy access via skytrain to get to the chao river, patong night market , the erawan shrine and the chatchuchak market on sundays.
Bangkok is easy to get around in, lovely food and with cheap goods. A definate must visit for all people that enjoy holidays. Rest, sun, great food, cheap shopping and lovely people. What else is needed?
Minor tip though, if three or more people, get a taxi to and from the airport as this costs approx 400 THB, whereas the airport express is 150THB per person and stops across the road which is difficult to cross due to traffic.
