We spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Silom. It is a nice hotel, quite convenient to shopping and sights. We stayed in the Plaza wing on a high floor. The room was clean and comfortable. The check in and other service was good. We did not eat at the hotel. The restaurant Maria is great for dinner as is Silom Village, both very close to the hotel. You can take a tuk tuk for 50 THB to the Patpong night market and a taxi for 80 THB to Suan Lum night bazaar. The subway is a bit of a walk but doable. The hotel is a large hotel in a business district. We enjoyed out stay and will go back.

Apart from the duty manager and the taxi hunter, everything else was pretty much sucks.
Came from Holiday Inn Bangkok ploenchit this place feels like a motel.
Lets start with the check in process. We booked deluxe room 3 month ago and than called the hotel twice asking about it and they said it's newly refurbished and new. When we arrived, they bluntly offering the newly refurbished room with and extra of 900b / night. In other words the deluxe room that we booked was actually the old room. After a bit of arguing we finally stay and take the " deluxe" not refurbished room.
The room is very old, carpet stain, bathroom tiny and worst of all. the aircon was broken!
than we call the duty manager and told him everything, he end up giving us the newly refurbished room that they promised.
The next morning we had breakfast, the food very standard the waiters never smile and chat among each other.
the second and third day, we had another breakfast there because it's part of the package. They pointed us to our seat and then we left to get the food , when we got back the seat was taken!! after all the confusion they are not even an apologies and pointed to the other seat , happened twice and no smile with no apology.
really , i would rather paying $30 extra and back to the holiday inn bangkok ploenchit, so much better , bigger and a lot more friendly staff.
Note: do not ever go massage underneath the holiday inn silom hotel. That also the worst out of massage place I have tried.

The hotel was great...very clean, modern, comfortable. Great hotel. Within walking distance to some attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

We had been travelling for eight weeks across three continents and Bangkok was our final destination. As you can imagine our rucksacks and general attire were a litle worn and when we entered the hotel we felt very scruffy. However, the staff were very polite and efficient, even the smartly dressed concierge picked up up our scruffy rucksacks witout batting an eyelid (brave man). Everything in the hotel was top notch, if not a lttle expensive. We did not mind the expense, we were in a city after all. My only tip to them was how much they charged in the room for a bottle of water and for a can of Singha beer (seeing is believing). It was a great location and the gym, spa facilites were excellent. They let us use these even though we had checked out hours earlier. Great place.
