This hotel is extremely convenient to Disneyland. We walked back and forth at least twice a day sometimes more. It was an easy 10-15 min walk. The room was what we expected. Nice enough. But...one day we came back to our room after being gone the whole day at 4:15 p.m. to find the housecleaning staff just starting our room. That was strange and very inconvenient. The next day we slept in and the front desk called the room at 12:30 p.m. just as we were leaving to say that they would like to clean our room now. (we had the do-not-disturb sign out). So we said sure we are just heading out. We came back 3.5 hours later to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. We called the front desk to say just forget about it and their response was "okay". No apologies, no offer of fresh towels at least. The next morning we were at the continental breakfast at 9 a.m. and they had run out of cinnamon buns. No apologies again. Just "no, they don't have any more". Very bad customer service in my opinion. There are so many hotels in the area, this would not be one of my top choices.

“Customer Service Plus Cleanliness!”

Holiday Inn Express Anaheim Maingate

Dec 3, 2007

After a horrible night at another nearby Anaheim Hotel, we moved to the Holiday Inn Express for the night. The front desk staff, especially Felicidad, was more then accomidating and understanding about our dilemma. They even let us check into our room a bit early so that we could attend our meeting at Disneyland ontime. The room was very clean and the hospitality great. They even gave us water and cookies to take to the park with us. They also offer free continental breakfast availible in a nice breakfast room. The general manager, Esther Lin, greated all the guests that morning in the lobby and cared about any concerns or questions we might have. We highly recommend this hotel for those visiting Anaheim and/or the Disneyland area.

“Inexpensive and pleasant stay”

This is an old motel that has had a significant re-do. The floors of the rooms slant a bit, and the hallways are outdoors (though secure), but overall it's a really good value motel. For around $115/night, our family of 4 had a 2Q plus sofa bed room, with a mini-frig and microwave, continental breakfast buffet and free parking. The beds were comfy and came with top notch linens--triple sheeted with down comforters and both firm and soft pillows. The beds were definitely a cut above the rest of the furnishings, but everything was clean and in good repair. The bathroom was large and came with adequate amentities.

The breakfast room was almost always busy but was well attended and everything was replenished regularly. The women working there were always busy making sure that nothing ran out and that the tables were cleaned off.

There is a small pool, sauna and hot tub, but neither is particularly appealing. Nevertheless, our kids spent several hours in the pool/sauna one day when we were taking a break from the magic kingdom. There is also a guest laundry.

Parking is either on the side of the building or in a secure underground lot. The office is at the front of the building and the staff was almost always friendly and very helpful. The manager on site was very welcoming and checked in several times to make sure our stay was going well.

We walked to Disneyland and California Adventure from the hotel. It took about 15 minutes, which is really nothing when you're talking about walking around the parks all day! There were quite a few small places to eat nearby (that didn't look too appetizing) but a brand new Bubba Gumps has opened up less than a block away and a Cheesecake Factory is opening just beyond that. We found a Target and multiple restaurants about a mile or two down Harbor Avenue (away from the parks).

We were happy with our choice but if I intended to spend more time in my room, I'd probably pick somewhere a bit nicer, possibly with a view. We looked out at a vacant lot (could see some of the fireworks from our room, though) and at the driveway to the underground parking. We spent almost no time in our room, so were very glad to save some money on our lodging. The Holiday Inn Express was a good balance for us on this trip.

Very nice and clean room! Pleasant staff and fast check in. Just down the street from Angels Stadium (which was the purpose for our stay). Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Good connection for Wi-Fi users. We were only here one night but it was very pleasant. Probably something to stay away from if you have children, as the pool is very small. We didn't use it to know if it was "swim-able." Overall, nice hotel.

“A great stay at Holiday Inn Express Maingate!!”

Holiday Inn Express Anaheim Maingate

We stayed at this hotel in August for 9 nights and were not disappointed. The staff were great and very helpful, remembering our families name and the name of our kids. (Lolly(?forgot how she spelled it), was fantastic, our daughters thought she was the best, nicest person ever!!!). In fact, I called in advance to see if we could have a room that had a view of the fireworks, which we got, and when we were having a problem with the internet in our room and had to change rooms, they made sure we still had a room with a view of the fireworks.

The hotel was very clean, the pool area was nice and clean, the breakfast and breakfast area was good with a great selection for breakfast including cinnamon buns, toast, bagels, muffins, danishes, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and milk. If things ran out, they weren't out for very long as they kept replenishing the items. We though it was a nice touch too that they gave us cookies and bottled water upon checking in, and they had coffee and fruit by the front desk if you wanted. Also was a computer in the lobby if someone needed, there was no charge for parking, they helped us with any questions, getting shuttles to the airport, etc.

The room was very spacious for the 4 of us, we had 2 queen beds, a sofa, which as nice to have an area to sit and put our stuff on, a coffee table, a desk area, a fridge and a microwave, and a nice spacious bathroom.
It has got the best temperature for a pool that I've ever been in, and I've been in a lot of pools!! It says that it is heated and it is, not like some others that I've stayed at that claim theirs is heated, only to get in and freeze!! When we came back for a break in the afternoon there wasn't a lot of people in the pool, it was nice. You've also got a nice view of the fireworks from the pool area. Right off the pool area, is a Sauna, a laundry room, washrooms for when you're at the pool, and a drink & ice machine.

It was a bit of a walk from Disneyland at the end of the day when you're tired, but still wasn't bad (our kids are 6 & 10). Close by there is a 7-11, a subway, pizza place, chinese food, I-Hop.

We were very happy with our stay here and would stay again!!
