I was very disappointed. Upon entering the carpets were filthy and there was that strange smell, I didn't ever dare walk barefoot, I ended up putting towels on the ground and we hopped around from towel to bed if we had no socks on. The air conditioner even on full barely kept the room cool, my daughter and I stayed in one room and another couple stayed in a joining room and although I paid exactly the same price as them, they had a microwave and we did not, and there closet was 3 times the size. Our tub/shower was a problem right off the bat, never any hot water, and it dribbled out, and then didn't drain properly as you stood there trying to get the soap out of your hair. The sink also had a drainage problem. Small sandpaper towels as well. Which I guess I can understand that, with the high turnover and bleach they must need to use. A couple times I gave up on our shower and asked to use our friends and theirs was 50% better. It's funny with reviews I think sometimes you end up with a dud room and others get a room with no problems, I ended up with a dud. Near the end of our stay the shower broke completely and they got a repairman in that night but he came in with his dirty work boots on, and then left the bathroom a disgusting mess of mud! We were on the lower floor and also had trouble sleeping because we could hear the people upstairs and doors slammed all the time when anyone in the whole corridor area left their room. Someone else mentioned the problem with the air conditioner being by the sliding door and therefore trying to keep the light out was a problem, with the curtain not being properly fitted. The sliding door opened onto a concert small slab completely surrounded with tall fencing which we never went out on, as it felt more like a jail area and was in over heat sun heat the whole day anyways! I guess the only good thing about that is you didn't have to worry about someone breaking in through the slider which is why I'm sure they did that. I did notice other rooms (i.e. upper rooms had a balcony which looked like they would have been nice as some had the view of the pool at least. And most of all which annoyed & upset me the most, was we started to notice things from our room go missing, the first time I thought maybe we misplaced it, but sure enough it happened several more times and it was for the strangest things like the box of expensive (to me) chocolate covered toffee prezels I purchased at Disneyland to bring back home as a gift to my parents which I even had hidden and not left in plain sight. Stuff from our fridge went missing also. I had very little spending money after paying for the hotel so this hurt me the most. Also, 3 of the 4 washing machines and 2 of the 4 dryers were broken, so I was never able to use them as some lady with 7 kids happened to be at them all day, I guess she lived there..LOL Being a single parent on a limited income this was a very disappointing stay for me. In case your wondering you can't see the fireworks that well unless you walk a ways from the hotel as usually trees block the view, I was on the first floor in a corridor facing other rooms though, so I can't say if maybe some of the other rooms might have a view of them, but I don't think so, as the front desk and the restaurant occupy the front part of the hotel, and the rooms are behind. In the past I have always stayed at budget hotels in the area around Disneyland... which were usually the magic lamp and magic carpet which I had no problems, in fact loved and usually paid $50 or less for, they don't exist anymore because of the convention center so I was forced to book a new place, and my mistake in booking this one which cost me $120 per night, which for me I thought must therefore be a fantastic hotel for that price when I was happy before with a $50 one, my expectations were so much higher.
There were in all fairness some pros... and if I did not have the room complaints then I would have been able to give a ok review. I did like the pool, as it was very big and a good temp. and they had a hot tub also. I liked how they had a gift shop on site, and a restaurant on site, and I didn't have any complaints in the restaurant food department, and even liked how my child got to eat free when I purchased a meal. If I was without a child I think I would have enjoyed the lounge area also, it looked nice. The front desk staff also I have no complaints with, even though had I really spoke my mind on the room I'm sure this opinion could have changed (Ha Ha). I also liked the short walk to Disneyland from the Hotel and that there was a Tony Roma's in walking distance as well.
