Room was not ready when we got there. Had to change in the car in parking lot after driving there for last 6 hours and then hike to Disneyland! ! The location was bad. It LOOKS close to Disneyland on the map but if you are walking, its VERY invonvenient. You basically have to walk up to the corner, turn, then walk down quite a ways to the entrance, then even further into the gates. I was with my husband and my kids ages 7 and 13. We were too tired after walking all day to make the walk back and forth a couple times a day. We got the shuttle passes on the 2nd day which was even worse! Because of the location and the routes, it takes 15 minutes to get into Disneyland! It goes down the block AWAY from Disneyland, makes a u turn on a street, then back around past where you started to make a few pick ups. If you have the magic morning-early entrance- dont count on getting first in line. Just stay somewhere across the street from the entrance and save the trouble.Breakfast selection not great unless you pay for upgrades.

My husband and I had first stayed at this hotel in 2001. Everything was perfect for a Dland vacation because the hotel is located directly across the street from the entrance. For a couple with one car parking was great. The customer service was great, so was the breakfast. In 2003, our family reserved a "suite" to accomodate 2 families. We arrived around 5pm, after the 3 p.m. check-in time. When we were assigned our "suite", our doors were open & there were 3 loud, huge fans in our rooms. I asked the front desk why the doors to our rooms were left open and there were fans everywhere. They told us that the carpet had gotten wet somehow and they were trying to dry it out before we got there. Since it was hot, they were almost dry, and we were tired, so we kept the rooms. After unloading our transports, we were given only 1 parking space for a suite that accomodated 2 families with children (4 adults, a sr citizen, 4 children). The only other place we could park was at a lot for another hotel, 4 looooong blocks down the street...and had to pay by the day! We argued that we should have 2 parking spaces for each room, but it was one parking space per reservation. Whatever. The room was OK. Looked clean. Breakfast was just mini muffins, store-bought danishes and juice. No place to sit, so we brought it back to our room. After our 2 days, asked to reduce the price of the room b/c it was like the room wasn't ready. They said NO. We have not stayed there since. We book at Tropicana Inn now. Even when the rates go up there, they lower it to what we had the last time we stayed. So it has been the same rate no matter what time of year we go. And if there's no availability there, they direct us to the sister hotel just down the street. Sorry Desert Inn & Suites!

“Works for us!”

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights in May '07. We were able to check in early and the desk clerk was very helpful in getting us into a room that was ready. Check in was quick and easy and the staff was great. We had a 2 queen room on the second floor, towards the back. It was a good sized room, clean, and well stocked. It looked like the carpets were probably due for a cleaning but they weren't really too bad.

Having the vanity outside the bathroom is a feature we both liked.

I can't complain about the beds. My daughter can sleep on anything and after being in the park all day, so can I. haha We had no issues sleeping and weren't sore from the mattresses the next day.

We didn't take advantage of the free continental breakfast on this trrip as they weren't open early enough the first morning (6 am park opening for Pirates 3 premiere) and we had planned to have breakfast in the park the last day. I've been told numerous times that it's your average continental breakfast which has been mentioned by previous posters here.

The walk to the park is great. It's really close to the cross walk which is very welcome after a long day at the park.

My only complaint isn't really worth complaining about. There were some kids running around in the courtyard one morning. It was about 8 am and we were already up and about to leave so it wasn't a big deal to us. Plus, can you really blame them for being excited. haha

Oh, and I almost forgot. They charged my card one nights stay the day before we got there. When we checked out, the system tried to cahrge us for the full two nights. Luckily for me, it was my debit card and I only had enough on it to pay what should have been the remaining balance. He caught his mistake quickly though, corrected it, and apologized.

We are booked here again for 4 nights in March 08.

The walls were very thin and we could hear our neighbors who kept us up at night. We let the front desk know but there was no real solution for the following evening and we had the same problem again. The breakfast room was so crowded there was nowhere to sit for my mother and my 2 year old daughter and the food quality was low. We asked for a crib and never got one. I would suggest staying at another hotel nearby. Positives: The location was very good. I liked having free internet access in the lobby.

“Great location and comfy beds”

Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites

This hotel was very well located right across the street from the entrance. The rooms open onto an outside balcony but we felt safe there.

This is not a flash hotel so dont expect luxury but given you are out all day it represented value for money as the beds were comfy and clean. We opted for the parlour room. Whilst small it provided an area for the kids to sit and watch television when we were getting organised so we felt it was worth paying extra for.

Breakfast was basic (apples, toast and pastries) but fine to eat.

We would stay again.
