“A new favorite!”

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel

May 8, 2008

I stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim for the first time this April and found myself my new favorite hotel in the Disneyland area! Staying at the Sheraton Anaheim was perfect for the active Disneyland vacation we had planned. The moment we arrived there it was just perfection. The staff at the desk were very helpful during check-in and even when we realized that someone in our party had forgot their medication at home they wrote out the directions to the nearest Walgreens.
The hotel itself is much larger than it looked from the front. We had simply booked the cheapest room we had found for the hotel. While the view was not wonderful as it was facing the other side of the hotel it didn’t need to be spectacular. We were there for Disney! The room, although the cheapest, was extremely spacious and the beds were comfortable after a long day at the parks.
Downstairs there is a buffet breakfast with an enormous spread of food all freshly made and the fruit just right. It was a bit of a steep cost for just a breakfast, but it's good for families who want to eat healthy and to fill themselves enough to only have a snack for lunch.
At night time for parents who just need a break there is the bar that is open late and the availability to just relax on the sofas in the lobby while having a drink appealed to some adults in my party. For families the pool outside is more than adequate for a time of relaxation during the afternoon break from Disneyland. Also the grounds around the hotel are lovely with all sorts of decorative plants just giving the right atmosphere to the hotel.
Also the shuttle service to and from the park is a wonderful step up from having to at other hotels use the ART bus costing $3/day. One time after getting soaked from going from Splash Mountain to Grizzly River Run several from our group decided to travel back to the hotel and change. After asking the driver if he could wait for us to change and then drive us back, received a friendly yes. He waited patiently for us to return after about 10-15 minutes and drove us back over to Disneyland. Now that's customer service!
All in all I think this hotel is a deal! With the price you pay you are getting excellent service, transportation, a comfortable and spacious room and a pool. What more could a traveler ask for?? :)

What a beautiful room, felt like a celebrity, a celebrity surrounded by slamming doors and children running and jumping above us. The party in the hall outside our room was pleasant to listen to while we SHOULD have been sleeping. I recommend it, if you don't want to sleep....

“Should be called sheraton motel”

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel

This hotel is advertised as a suite hotel---it is not. The room is basically a motel room style with a pull out couch. The bathroom is so small that most of your things have to put on the computer desk outside the room. The fridge was too small to put leftovers in. Also the breakfast buffet is not included in price and cost us $60-$70 a day for 2 adults and three kids. The front desk staff were rude and would not concerned when we complained about our room. I have stayed in a Sheraton Suite hotel in Vancouver which was lovely---it actually had a bedroom with a door and a large bathroom. Anaheim also charges for parking everyday---so much for the free shuttle. I would recommend the holiday inn suites instead(staybridge) which does include breakfast buffet, free parking, and two bedrooms-two full baths, and a full sized fridge.

“HAPPY we booked here”

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel

We have just returned from 9 night stay. I was worried about booking this hotel as it was away from the most of the other hotels. However my fears were short lived. The free shuttle out weighed staying at any of the hotels within walking distance of Disneyland and it was nice to get away from the madness near the Anaheim resort area. We saw how long the queues were for the ART shuttles and really how far a block walk was. When the shuttle was full they sent for another bus so there was only a small wait. We also caught the shuttle for shopping and wating out.
We stayed in the newer wing- with rooms recently renovated, but the hallway needed attention. The room had 2 queens and a rollaway for 2 adults and 2 kids, small bathroom and dressing area. They said these were the bigger rooms, but I found it not much bigger than most family rooms that we have stayed in either Australia or Vanutau. The beds were to die for and the pillows were great.
We ate at breakfast buffet some days, it was $15 adults and $7 (+tip etc) cheaper than most buffet breakfast in Aus. Other days we bought cereal and milk or made toast at the deli. After long day tours we also ate from the deli, which was reasonable with fresh fruit available. Although the deli was not as cheap as a supermarket it was convienent, across the road the gas station has an AM/PM store which was cheaper espcially for milk, large water and sodas.
We were really happy we booked here and would probably do the same again..
