Stayed here for part of Memorial Day weekend. I work in DC and live in the suburbs but my husband and wanted to stay in town for a special weekend. I picked the Courtyard because of the location. We went to see the play, Julius Caesar, at the Shakespeare Theater's Sidney Harmon Hall, which is only about three blocks away on F Street. The next day, we walked to the National Gallery of Art and the Newseum. That night, we took the Green Line Metro to Nationals Park to see the Nats play the Brewers. It was only 4 stops on Metro's Green Line to get back to the Gallery Place Metro stop, which is near the hotel. After check out, we walked up F Street to Metro Center Metro stop to get the Orange line to go home. (I really disagree with comments in another review that this hotel is not convenient to the Metro.) The location of this hotel is great - it is within walking distance to the Smithsonians, the Newseum, the Spy Museum, the new Crime and Punishment Museum, the Verizon Center (professional hockey (Capitals), basketball(Wizards and Mystics (WNBA) and concerts), and lots of restaurants. (For breakfast, if one does not want to eat at the hotel and not spend a lot of money, Dunkin Donuts is on 7th Street and Brueggers Bagels is on E Street between 8th and 9th Street) The room was a little small but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel had free internet. and the price was right.
