I finally got a chance to stay at this hotel. I have so many friends from the Sydney area and they always talk about it. It has a lot of history.
I liked the way the developer have tried to keep the some or the historic items of the wharf when they converted it to a hotel. We had the old exposed beams running across our room and the old conveyor belt was outside our door. Added to these items were all the modern amenities that are needed in a five star hotel.
We did have some issues with trying to get meals and coffee throughout the day. I could never understand when the restaurants was going to be open our closed. There are a number of other pubs, cafes and restaurants in the area.
We used Blue as our base to visit the tourist areas of Sydney. It was a nice walk to get to the CBD, Opera house and the Bridge. I was a little worried on the first night when the staff didn't recommend that we walk in the area of the hotel at night. It had me a little apprehensive, but everything is also a close taxi ride.
The staff are good, but there are not many of them around. I travel a lot in Asia so I am a bit spoiled for five star hotel staff attention.
