“Absolutely georgeous!!!”

Our family of four spent just one night at The Quay West Hotel in Sydney, Australia. This hotel is by far, the most magnificent and beautiful hotel we have EVER stayed at. We were visiting friends (live in Miranda, NSW) and spent one night prior to our trip the Blue Mountains.
We spoke to Melanie (reservations) the night before who was the most pleasant, accomodating "one job fits all" kind of woman. The hotel room we booked (through "LastMinuteDeals.com.Au) was so much more than we had ever imagined. We ended up with a Suite, overlooking both the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The suite included a full kitchen (full refridgerator, sink, dishwasher, fully stocked cabinets for dining, elegant dining plates and glasses, beautiful utensils, ,dining room, living room with a pullout bed, washer and dryer!) The most incredible part of this suite was the view!!! We stayed on the 18th floor.. The room had windows from about 2 feet from the bottom all the way to the top!! I could stand in the livingroom and look through the window to my left and see my daughter looking out the bedroom window!! It was the most picturesque, panoramic view! The "washroom" or toilet (bathroom) was spectacular.. some of you may know that most (at least of all the "washrooms" we saw in Australia have a stand up shower and separate bathtub. It was magnificent.. the tiles, glass, mirrors, all beautiful and just incredible!! ( I have submitted views at night of the harbour!!)
Beyond the room is the staff.. We were greeted by Melanie who was just as pleasant in person as she was the night prior when we spoke to her on the phone.
Accomodating is an understatement!! The hotel lobby )along with everything else about this hotel ) is a 10 star!!! Pristine and immaculate w/the most comfortable, clean, pleasing surroundings we have ever seen! The concierge handled everything for us to be picked up by a cab the next morning to go to the train station. The concierge also went as far to get us the train schedules and locations of where we were to go.
We have not one complaint or suggestion about this "Oasis!!" Wouldn't change a thing.. except maybe we should have stayed there another night, had we known how incredible it was. OH!!! The pool!! Heated, beautiful design... magnificent!! I was able to stand in the low end and look out (again, the panoramic views) of the city at nightime!! The mosaic tile design, the "underwater window" , the lights, the cleanliness of the entire area was fascinating..!!! I had seen a picture of this hotel and the pool before we left the states, so when I noiced it again as a choice to stay overnight..we decided that was the place.. I still cant describe to anyone reading this how wonderful a place this hotel is,.. I just can't put it into words..
The area surrounding the hotel (located up a hill , off the main shopping street) came to life after dark!! My husband and I walked around and found a great little pub, which we stayed for briefly to have a nightcap.. .. the people there, obviously celebrating their last work day before Christmas.. were certainly in the Holiday spirit!! Everyone was friendly, accomodating and a joy to meet.! Had we not had to get up early for our trip, we certainly could have found may more places to go and things to do!!

I HIGHLY and ABOVE AND BEYOND recommend this hotel to everyone!! If it's high season and the price is more, believe me!! ** It's worth every dollar!!!**
To the people of Australia.. WE THANK YOU FOR THE MOST FANTASTIC TRIP OF A LIFETIME!! From our flight to our last day,.. we had nothing but satisfaction, fun, memories to last forever and most of all.. we got to spend Christmas, Australian Style;;; !! What a joy and what hospitality your country has!!
We cannot wait to return..

“Go for the view alone”

Quay West Suites Sydney

We stayed at the Quay west on our arrival in Oz for three days in the middle of December. As first timers to the land down under we could not have picked a better spot.
As obviously mentioned in previous reviews the view from these apartments are tremendous, well they are not wrong, whatever time of day or night you are drawn to the living room which overlooks the stunning view of the Harbour Bridge and Sydney opera House, all I can say is this is a living painting and should be entitled 'Life on the Harbour' Enough about the view I am sure you are already sold. The suites, well one of the best we stayed in, very comfortable, spacious, ameneties such as washing machine, dryer were very good. There is a small kitchen area with a large fridge, dishwasher ,microwave, toaster everything really.

The only reason I do not rate this as excellent was that Reception did not inform us that there was a free Breakfast on arrival.
We did not eat in the Suites but this brings me on to the great location, there is no need to eat there as in two minutes walking distance there are a number of eateries serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. (George Street).

It would appear that cafes are linked to the work place and wherever there is a office you will find Food. Only five minutes away is a Lindt Chocolate cafe worth a visit ,they only exist in Sydney. You are also close to the Rocks area of Sydney which has an abundance of History , cafes and small shops and a large Sydney Information centre. All in all I recommend the Suites for Families, there is a pool and Gym which we used and enclose photos of, and of course did I mention the view.......

“Expensive but worth it”

Quay West Suites Sydney

We stayed as a family with 2 young kids in a 2 bed harbour view suite. My God well worth the extra for THAT view - a completely uninterrupted and direct view of Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay - we could have sat all day and night and just looked out the window. We requested a higher room to get a better view and got the 22nd floor. Really great location for the quay (literally 5 mins walk to ferries, watch out for the steep walk back uphill), the Rocks and the CBD, so overall I'd say worth the price.

They were chocca full but the service was still good. Our suite was thoughtfully laid out, spacious, clean, well decorated and maintained with all the facilities you'd expect. Kitchen and bathrooms nicely luxurious, living area furniture was a bit functional and practical, I guess geared at long stay families who no doubt give it a bit of a hammering, but still tasteful.

Good room service menu, we only ate once in the restaurant for breakfast as it was a bit businessy, but so many great restaurants around no problem. We loved this place, very sad to leave (had to relocate to slightly cheaper apartment!) and would definitely recommend.

“A+ for Families at Quay West”

Quay West Suites Sydney

5 of 5 stars

I have stayed at this property four times now with my family and the Quay West has yet to dissappoint.

We first stayed at the Quay West seven years ago on the recommendation of a travel agent. After arriving in the middle of a record setting hailstorm, the entire city of Sydney was without power. The with charm and grace, the bellhops lugged our giant suitcases up 10 flights of stairs with only the glow of flashlights to guide us. Huffing and puffing, it was an experience I will never forget.

We returned to Sydney in August 2007, again to stay at the Quay West. I must say I was just as pleased years later. We love the magnificent view and the spaciousness of the apartments. The location is perfect for sightseeing. Everyone in our family of five had their own comfortable bed - plus two bathrooms AND a washer/dryer. The kitchen is adequate. Perfectly suited for a take-out dinners and everything you need to make your own breakfasts. There are grocery stores within walking distance. One of our rooms had an enormous patio.

But perhaps our favorite amenity of this hotel is it's swimming pool, hot tub, workout room and sauna on the upper floors. There is nothing better to combat jet-lag or relax from a day of sightseeing than a refreshing swim or a work-out. Most of the time, we were the lone occupants in the facility. The view over the city and harbor is breathtaking.

I highly recommend Quay West for families looking for higher quality, spacious accommodations in a picture perfect location in the heart of Sydney.
