Having stayed at the Four Seasons in Singapore and having the most wonderful time we had no hesitation in staying at the Four Seasons Sydney.
Bad mistake. Firstly, once the booking was made we were trying to organise airport transfers thru concierge. The guy we were dealing with just could not comprehend that there were 3 of us. He continually confirmed everything for 2 pax.
We had booked a full harbour, opera house and circular quay junior suite for an average of $800 per night. Upon arrival at the room whilst the view was fantastic the bathroom took up the corner where most of the views would have been. The bathroom was tiny and you couldnt have more than 1 person in there at a time. The wardrobe was on the other side of the room so you had to walk out of the bathroom and thru the room to reach the walk in closet. Crazy room layout.
More on the room layout - the old old TV faced the bed and completely away from the lounge area. The desk chair blocked the entrance to the bathroom.
Anyway, we went out for dinner expecting our sons rollaway bed to appear after dinner. What did appear was that the lounge was rolled out to reveal a sofa bed. Really? For an 18 yr old boy at $800 per night. The mattress was approx 2 inches thick. My husband went down to front desk to request a proper rollaway bed. He was told that for the room we booked the sofa bed was what was offered. FOR $800 per night in a junior suite!! Yeh NO!
After some discussion a rollaway bed was bought up and I have attached photos of the quality. This was basically the standard of this hotel overall. Very very tired.
Some positives - the location of the hotel is great, the food is good and once we got there concierge was very helpful.
In addition, there was no pool attendant, the fridge and phone broke down in our room and I was locked in a treatment room at the spa after a door handle came off.
Would I recommend the hotel - NO!
