Arrived home yesterday after a few days at Hotel Stellar. The Hotel is a must for its location, value for money and character.
We were suprised at how large the room was and it was great being fully equipped with a large ensuite, great kitchen facilities and ample room to move around and relax.
We were located on the first floor and i was worried we would get a heap of traffic noise, but we didnt as our room was at the back of the hotel. The other thing i like was the fact we could open our windows for air.
Staff were friendly and we took use of the car park they offer for $16.50 a night, undercover and secure.
I dont want to complain as i really enjoyed my stay, but it did frustrate me that the room had tried to be opened at 8.30, 3 times by cleaners as my fellow traveller had checked out earlier that morning and paid, and told staff that there was stil someone in the room till checkout time to not disturb. I even had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Staff were apologetic, but lucky i had the latch on the door otherwise they would of just enetered with me inside by myself.
I will stay again and you must try it!

This hotel surpassed my expectations. Perhaps it was the fact that they upgraded us for free, but the room we got was the largest hotel room I've ever been in. Also, we'd requested to be put on a high floor, so they put us on the top floor, with a view of the park. Sweet!

The bed was king-sized and comfy, there was a kitchen and mini-bar, and the bathroom was huge. Nice complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, although unfortunately there was no free moisturiser. Can't have everything, I guess, especially when it's so reasonably priced.

Also nice was the hotel happy hour. They have two for one drinks every day from 5-7pm. The location of the hotel was really convenient, so we could have a couple of drinks, and then head out to dinner somewhere.

I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Nicely done boutique hotel in easy walking distance from main central attractions. Direct route through Hyde Park and or Botanical Gardens all the way to Circular Quay (20-30 min walk). Cafe on ground floor next door serves good breakfasts etc, did not take up the inclusive breakfast option with room as do not eat enough to justify cost.

Room was very clean and well decorated with kitchenette and mini bar, tv and nice en suite with walk in shower. We were at the back of the hotel so definately no street noise, rooms are double glazed in any case so not likely to be a problem anywhere. Only very minor issue was slight lift (elevator) noise (swoosh), this was not excessive and became infrequent in the evening, this in no way spoilt our stay, other rooms across landing may not suffer.

Happy hour around 6pm, 2 for 1 beers, good internet access, washing machines and lugage store available.

Staff helpful and security seemed good (card access control on lobby after 7pm). Bottle shop (booze) and minimarket around the corner in Oxford Street.

We booked the Hotel Stellar after reading good reviews. When we arrived we had been put right next to the lift which makes a terrible noise and can be heard through the walls. i had requested a quiet room in my email when booking. It would be obvious to anyone that this was not a quiet room. As they were fully booked we had to find another Hotel to stay at. We booked weeks in advance and so were disappointed that they had not taken into account my request for a quiet room. on the plus side the staff were helpful and polite when we cancelled our stay.
