My husband and I don't play golf but that doesn't keep us from enjoying all that Ballybunion has to offer. We have stayed for many years at the 19th Lodge (convienently located across the street) and have thoroughly enjoyed the views of this incredible course. There is a "secret" path that leads you to the beach. It takes you through the course and offers breathtaking scenary. It makes non-golfers realize why you would want to play here. Mary/James Beasley open there "home" to you. From staying there for many years they are more like friends. I've seen them get tee times for golfers who didn't realize you don't just walk up to this magnificant course and play. We've met others in our Ireland travels who mentioned this very fact and have been generously helped by Mary/James. Their place is wonderfully located with luxury accomadations. They cater to golfers but if you have someone in your party that you feel wouldn't want to stay there because they don't play...I would tell you to book the rooms. There are gorgeous cliff walks beside the beach itself. As well there are many pubs and restaurants for nightlife. In fact, we're going again the fall of 2008.
