“Lovely Hotel”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

4 of 5 stars

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after finding it on the web. Total cost for 2 adults inc full irish breakfast 198 euros which is cheap in comparision to some of the hotels closer to the city centre. The hotel is large and clean and the twin bedrooms include a double and single bed. The rooms are immaculate with hairdryer, safe, bath and shower, iron and board and flat screen tv. Room service didnt have a good choice of food and i was charged 5 euros for tray service, i ordered a beef, chicken and ham sandwich which arrived with 3 plates of crisps and cost 28 euros, very very expensive. There is a vending machine by the lifts where you use you room card to purchase chocolate and drinks etc but a mars bar cost £1. The LUAS (tram) to the city is a 10- 15 min walk, down the main road, over the bridge at the RED COW island or as the locals call it MAD COW island and it costs 2 euros each to travel to the city centre and takes about 30 minutes. The breakfast was ok, all self service with fresh fruit and breads, meats, sausage, bacon, eggs, black and white pudding and plenty of tea, coffee, toast and juices. Joels restaurant is right next to the hotel and the food is fabulous but like everything in Dublin, very very expensive. I would return to this hotel, its probably one of the best hotels ive stayed in to date.

“Top Class Hotel”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

Jun 23, 2008

We stay in this hotel overnight on Saturday 21st June 2008. I booked the hotel through repeatroomex.com.We got a very good deal. I have travelled to Dublin a lot over the years and this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It is as relaxed and intimate as a family run hotel with the class and comfort of the four star standard it has. Although the weather was bad with wind & rain the minute we walked into the foyer it was warm and inviting. The staff were excellent in particular Francis who was in the residence bar. He was very helpful and chatty. The double room we booked was lovely with some lovely extras. The breakfast which was plentiful was served in beautiful surroundings.I will definitely be going back and would recommend this hotel to any one.

“nice hotel”

We liked the hotel very much. The rooms were great and as others have said the whole hotel is very modern looking and well decorated. We thought it was a great bargain for the price. Our group had two rooms that although numbered consecutively were very far apart. The hotel was very nice about switching rooms so we could be located together. In the switch they make a mistake with the room cards and gave us some comps for our trouble.

Parking was a piece of cake and driving time to downtown Dublin was only 15 to 20 min.

The construction around the hotel leave a little to be desired but that's not the hotels fault. Hopefully it will be completed soon. Although they have put out a ton of signs we missed the hotel the first time we drove by because it sits a little back from the road. It's also not very easy to get turned back around if you miss the hotel.

Overall a nice experience.

I booked the hotel in a rush as I aqquired tickets for the westlife concert unexpectedly. I have travelled to Dublin a lot over the years and this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It is as relaxed and intimate as a familty run hotel with the class and comfort of the four star standard it has.It has a shuttle bus to the Luas but the walk is only 10 mins max. The staff were excellent in particular Francis who was in the residence bar. He was as helpful and chatty as if it was two o clock in the day instead of two in the morning. The breakfast was lovely served in beautiful surroundings.I will definitely be going back and would recommend this hotel to any one.

“Great Hotel”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

May 27, 2008

We stayed at this hotel for three nights for the Curragh Racing . The hotel english speaking Staff were really helpful, organising our transport to and from the course, and advising us on the most cost effective way of getting around Dublin. We caught the Luas ( tram) into Dublin and a shuttle service runs from the hotel to the station if you don't want to walk the 20 minutes or so over a dodgy road and footbridge.
The hotel is relatively new, (opened Sept 2007) and if you do happen to catch a taxi from the airport or back from Dublin, very few taxi drivers have heard of it,! - they have heard of Joels restaurant though, which is situated just in front of the hotel and has been there for a number of years, before the hotel was built. It serves a huge range of delicious freshly prepared food, a lot cheaper than the hotel itself.
The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean with a luxury range of toiletries, flat screen tv's, safe, hairdrier and ironing board. Everything is utilised with a key card, from opening the door to using the lift, which helps with your peace of mind for security I suppose.
The breakfast is superb, with fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, and a chef will make your eggs/omlette any way you like.

My only groans were the non english reception staff didn't offer to take our bags up to our room when we arrived, we were not told about the facilities of the hotel and how you had to use the key card for the lift, cold drinks and snacks cabinet, etc and when we ordered room service, the evening staff were not english speaking and they couldn't understand us- not enough of a reason to stop us going there again though !!.
