We were fortunate to have traveled to Quebec City during their 400 year celebration. Courtyard Marriott Quebec is located just a few steps away from the gates of Old Quebec City. The old city was alive day and night. It was wonderful to be part of the festivities.

The staff members were friendly and very helpful. We arrived before 3 pm and we were able to check in early. It rained all day on our second day and we were given hotel umbrellas to use.

Our room was a standard room with 2 queen beds. We had a rollaway bed put in the room because there were 5 of us. The room was tight with the extra bed.

There is a spa jacuzzi but no pool at the hotel. There were limited fitness equipment (treadmill, bike and step).

We didn't pay for the American Breakfast as I felt it was overpriced. For the price we paid to stay at the hotel, breakfast should have been included. We did have dinner at the Que Sera restaurant in the hotel and we had a very nice meal. There were lots of restaurants close to the hotel.

The parking is in the public parkade across the street. The hotel does provide a valet service to the same parkade for $20/day compared to the self-park of $17/day. The valet service was very prompt.

Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We didn't need our vehicle for the 2 nights we were there. There is an Ecobus that will take you to the different sites for free but we didn't use it.

I would recommend this hotel for its location to Old Quebec.

I was lucky and able to book a room at the last minute for Quebec City's 400th birthday. The hotel is quite nice, with an attractive lobby and well-maintained, well-furnished rooms. The staff offers excellent and friendly service. Rooms have wired internet only. The hotel's location, just outside a gate to Old Quebec, is quite convenient.

From the time we arrived, with our car parked one and one half blocks away-because we had trouble navigating the one-way streets, the employees went above and beyond in offering exceptional service. The attendant actually went and drove our car to the hotel for us where he parked it for the duration of our stay. Be aware that it is a $20 fee per day. We booked our stay based on reviews we read on Trip Advisor with others praising the friendly, helpful service. (In the meantime, a friend also recommended this hotel--he stayed here last summer).

Every receptionist/ concierge/ attendant went out of his/ her way to be truly friendly, courteous, helpful, and pleasant. The hotel is located just one block from the wall of the Old City. We were given a map of the city to help us negotiate our way around. Every employee spoke English! Our room was of adequate size and definitely clean! We did not have any meals at the hotel during our stay--too many wonderful restaurants in Old City! Before leaving, our attendant even offered to fill our ice chest with ice for our long trip home!

You won't be disappointed with the service you receive here, nor with the cleanliness of your room. They take their jobs seriously and are there to serve you, the guest.

The highlights (in which there are no lowlights):

Location right outside the St. Jean gate to the walled city was awesome. Led you right into shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants etc.
Great and convenient starting piont.

Location to train station very acessible (walkable, but a climb up or ride down depending on direction - cab was $5.00)

Square that hotel surrounds had comedy festival going on and ice rink in the winter. Several play/event theatre's at your doorstep, several good cafes in the square and around the rear of hotel it is walkable to St. Jean street and numerous restaurants, pizza spots, liquor/wine shops and LA Maison grocery (which is awesome for local foods, meats,cheese's, picinic or eat-in stuff), as well as local drug/convenience stores for every need.

Hotel itself was spacious, clean, well-lit, had restaurant (looked good - but we usually never do hotel restaurants - so no real critique here). Small bar and seating for happy hours, wide screen TV. Rooms were excellent, large bathrooms, new fixtures, exceptionally clean, large flat screen TV (with lots of channels), several seating options in the room (living roon type chair and bigdouble seater lounger) - very spacious. Plenty of drawers and good size amoire. Large windows. Refridgerator and small counter area with glasses/coffeemaker etc. No safe in room - used safety depo boxes.

Staff is exceptionally nice, friendly, and helpful - every one of them. Always were several staff at the reservations desk, conceirge was attentive and helpful. Excellent staff, all spoke english impeccabily (if that is a concern). Business center was fine with a few computer terminals. There is a small gym also - but we never made it there (we got a work out walking everywhere - up and down!)

As far as Courtyard Marriotts go - this one is above and beyond the quality of the usual - especially in the staff and larger amenities. The value is fantastic - and I would never consider even staying at the neighboring Hilton or other larger (supposedly) better quality - this place is great; combined with the location to upper and lower towns here and the neighboring city options in the other direction, this place is prime.
