We were in montreal for the jazz festival, July 9-11. Decided last minute and so B+B accommodation was scarce. After 8 calls we found the Victorian Heritage. It was great, two old houses that have been completely renovated. Our room was smallish, but we did ask for the cheapest. It was a loft, antique furniture, an antique brass double bed. A stereo in the corner. The bathroom didnt have a bath, shower only and we knew that before hand. All brand new, and tiled. The room had central air, and was very comfortable. Breakfast was served in the basement kitchen which overlooked the garden. We had our pick from about 5 different loaves of fresh bread, yoghurt, cereal, coffee, fruit and fresh squeezed orange juice. The host is a very pleasent chap, Denis, a little slow at times but that may just be Montreal. In the herat of the Latin Quarter, close to St Denis where all the restaurants and pubs are, close to down town and about 1.5 blocks from the subway stop. $140 a night for both of us, a definite steal. Would defintely stay there again.
