Stunning room with your own kitchen shared with one other room. We had a balcony room at the back, really nice. Owner is extremely helpful, a Montreal born and bred so great advice on dining etc. Right in Montreal Village around the corner from a metro stop, gay pubs, restaurants etc, a really nice area.

We spent around 5 days in August in Montreal (during a big trip over Ontario and Quebec) - consequently at B&B Le Cartier - and it was simply... great!
Thanks to Richard who incredibly welcomed us very late (thanks to North American highways lol) in the evening... Richard's got an amazing experience to share with QC history, human relationships, etc. and he's also a great B&B manager of course!
Incredibly affordable prices, nice area to stay with, everything at walking distance or by metro... for the rest, avoid to come by car, it is not practical at all for parking in the street (french-speaking bureaucracy probably :-D).
The B&B is very nice as well: beautiful, comfortable and quiet bedrooms, nice terrace, quiet place, nice kitchen, cool breakfast (and great coffee) and finally big fridge to be filled...

No negative comments to be done in any case! Only good points!

I had a great stay at the B&B Cartier. I was in Montreal the entire week of Labor day. This was my first trip to Montreal, Richard was very helpful with reccomendations on where to go and places to eat. The B&B is very convenient just a minute or 2 walking distance from the metro and about the same distance to all the action on St. Catherine's. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated plus free wireless internet. The only warning I have is not about the B&B. If you decide to get a week Metro pass keep in mind they are valid from Monday to Sunday only, it doesn't start from the day of purchase like in most large cities i've been in.

Had an absolutely great time here. Right off St. Catherine's, but no street noise (even though we had the front room). Very convenient to metro and bus station. Pickup service from the airport was also a very welcome extra, well worth the cost.

Richard is certainly quirky, but very friendly and welcoming, and quite helpful with advice on what to see and do in the city. Breakfast (self-serve) was more than adequate (although one morning I noticed a little mold on the croissants), and the little garden was a delightful place to linger over breakfast or an afternoon glass of wine. And with the ample refrigerator available for guest use, we were able to pick up fruit and cheese at Atwater Market for such occasions.

The shared bathroom was spotless at all times, towels are big and soft, the bed was comfortable. All in all, a great place to stay, and I would definitely go back.
