Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for 4 nights. Found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well maintained, and I had the best sleep I've had in a long time with the comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast bar was basic breakfast fare with hot and cold items and there was lots of it. Also staff were deligent in restocking items and were friendly. The location was great being a short walk from most attractions. I like to walk so I appreciated the exercise. Even if I had to get a taxi to the Metro Convention Centre it only cost $6 or $7 for the fare one way. For the money we paid it was good value. It wasn't the Sheraton but it also didn't have the Sheraton room rate either. I'd definitely stay there again.

This is pretty much your run of the mill Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are clean and a bit larger then most of the other HIE's I have stayed in, and it is not long on hte amenities. However, the location is quite convenient. There are lots of good restaurants and shops within walking distance, and downtown Toronto, the Rogers Centre and the Arena are a short hop away (a walk in some cases).

The staff is courteous and helpful. My only complaint was hte lack of a refrigerator in the room and the high price of parking CAD17.00 per day. Otherwise, this is a good choice for a place to stay in Toronto.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world for over 60 years and this was the very first one which neglected to give us our requested 'wake up' call. As we were to take VIA rail that morning, we fortunately woke up on our own. When I asked what happened to our wake up call, I just received a disinterested and not even remotely apologetic "we put it in the computer". We had also booked months before our trip and requested a room no higher than the 5th floor. This was totally disregarded.

The room was drab, sparse and not particularly clean. In all honesty, I would never recommend this poor excuse of a hotel to anyone.

We stayed in this hotel for one night at the beginning of our holiday. We had mixed feelings about this hotel after reading the postings but as we got it for a good price, we didnt have any high expectations.
We hired a car from the airport and parked at the underground parking there. It costs $20 (which is reduced from $25 for non residents). Although it is more expensive than nearby parking facilities, it was convenient, manned by security and they were generous in letting us park for more than 24 hours for the same price. You could also drive in and out as often as you wanted.
The reception was efficient and we got a room on the 10th floor. I have to say that we were impressed by the standard of the room. The room was big, and clean and the bed was comfortable. The only down side was that the a/c was slightly loud and when turned on low, was perhaps still too cold.
The hotel is well situated and I have to say we did not feel that the area was too bad / or unsafe to walk around even at night time.
The nearest subway was about 10 minutes walk away. The breakfast was continental and was always well stocked. The breakfast area was perhaps too small but there was always seating available.
This hotel is mainly used by tourists and tour groups but we had no problems.

Overall, this place is very good value for money and was much better than the B and B accomodation that we stayed in later on in the trip (the B and B was also twice the price we paid for the Holiday inn)!

I would definitely recommend this place and will certainly consider coming back again!
