“great location and value”

I was a lone traveller and found the hotel to be in a great postion in the city centre. I caught an airport coach right to the front door, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and clean and warm, which was good as it was very cold outside. The food was good but i felt the menu was abit limited with choice. I walked everywhere as it was located in the centre, close to the shops and theatre. I would stay there again.

“Attitude”

Although I have been staying at the Bond Place Hotel several times before, last weekend will be the last one thanks to an incredible amount of attitude coming from the desk person, his name is Ivan, apparently he doesn't know how to do his job to the point that I am still having issues with an unmatched amount of hold on my credit card; even-though the 2 nights I stayed have been already charged fully. The hold doesn't allow me to use my own money until the hotel drops it -and AGAIN the hotel has already been paid in full amount. Thanks for ruining a wonderful weekend in Toronto.

“Never Again”

Our travel agent booked us into this hotel as an overnight stay on our way to Niagara. We didn't arrive till 1a.m. as we spent 2 hours in the airport trying to find out which shuttle bus we should catch. The room was like a cheap motel room but we were tired and thirsty so had a cup of coffee and went to bed. The air conditioner rattled all night long and at 4a.m. we were greeted to a wake up call in the form of sea gulls outside our window screeching and swooping into a big green dumpster which was parked in the alleyway in front of our window. After having put up with this for 2 hours we decided to have a cup of coffee and a shower. It was not to be - there had only been enough coffee for one cup and we had that when we arrived. Ok lets have a shower then, which one of us was going to have a shower, as there was only 1 towel for 2 people. I tried to ring housekeeping and got no answer so my husband went to the front desk to ask for another towel and was told that housekeeping comes on at 8.30a.m. After he explained (in no uncertain terms) that we were actually having a shower now and not at 8.30 we were eventually given another towel. I cannot comment on the breakfast as after this fiasco we decided to eat elsewhere. When we checked out we were asked if everything was ok and upon telling them no it wasn't we were told - oh, sorry. I have told my travel agent not to book anyone else into this place unless he informs them that it is a cheap motel which pretends to be a hotel.

“Good Location”

Stayed at Bond Place Hotel for 3 nights with my husband in June 2008. We had a room on the 10th floor, with 2 single beds and a large bathroom with a tub. No fridge in the room but ice machines available at the hotel. Coffee facilities in the room. There is a restaurant on the ground floor where we dined on the evening we arrived as we were tired. Restaurant had no ambience, very sterile and dull. Food was okay but restaurant could do with a little bit of piped music so you couldn't hear the next tables conversation. Hotel is in a central location, very close to the Eaton Centre for shopping. We ate at Pickle Barrell on two nights - the best variety of food to chose from at a great price. Would stay at Bond Place again.

“OK, no frills place to stay in Toronto”

Bond Place Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Stockholm, Sweden

I stayed 3 nights at Bond Place hotel, in June 2008.
This hotel is OK to stay in, no real reason not to stay there,
but, it has nothing extra that makes it stand out.

Centrally located in Toronto's downtown. Clean, reasonably
comfortable but no golden fringe. The staff is reasonably
friendly and helpful, and the people staying seemed to be nice and friendly
holiday people, mostly European, it seemed.

The room was clean and reasonably well equipped.

I stayed there twice, with a nights stay in Niagara falls in between.
The Bond place stored most of my luggage while I was away
and made no problems about that. Arriving back from Niagara, the train was very late and I arrived
back late in the evening. This also was no problem.

Close to restaurants, shopping areas and public transport,
internet cafes etc.
Travel to Union station by public transport takes about
15 - 20 minutes, including walk to subway station.

The hotel is just by Dundas square where something seems to be happening all the time, making the area seem buzzing and vital. While I was there, public dancing lessons where ongoing
on the square every afternoon.

The music and lights from the events on Dundas square in the evening was clearly visible, and audible in the room.
At present, some construction work is ongoing on the
neighbouring sites, this, and the sounds from Dundas
Square makes the place a bit noisy.

This could be temporary, but, anyone, for whom quiet
surroundings are very important may choose to
stay somewhere else.

I could consider staying there again, if I went to Toronta,
but might also try to find somewhere else.

While I was checking in, a false fire alarm went off in the
upper floors, and no one could use the elevators for about
45 minutes until the fire brigade arrived and could check
things out, and turn the alarm off.
