“Had a Blast at the Beach Palace”

My wife and I spent 7 nights (5/20/08-05/27/08)as guests of members, at the beach palace and we had best experience ever. The service was so far above anything I have experienced before at any hotel here in the states (including some hotels @$800 night).
Check in went smooth and painless, requested oceanview and was given room 508 the view was breathtaking(see pics). Vacation coordinator Alex helped us set up all our tours and even sent us our favorite bottles of alcohol to the room(Don Julio blanco and Disaronno.(sp?)).
Restaurants were all tasty, food seemed better than when we visited the cancun palace last yr. ( Bacon at breakfast was not that leathery stuff they served last yr.) Our favorite was the Wok with sushi appetizers and a delecious Flambe dessert. Least favorite was the italian, but even that wasnt bad. Again the service at all restaurants was what really made it a great experience.
The shows at night were fun and well done. They play movies on the big screen that desends over the pool on some nights. ("forrest gump" and "the wild" cartoon while we were there). Dont miss the fire show it was spectacular.
4 Bars to choose from. rooftop, pool, sports bar, and one that had a live band performing nightly.
The view from the rooftop is amazing you can see in all directions.
the gym is small, but you can get a good workout in so you wont feel to bad for eating all the foods.
The service is what really stands out more than anything. Roberto ( a rotating manager) took care of us every chance he could including having the bartenders make us some really tasty shots such as "scoobie doo"
Drinks were good when you told them what you wanted in it, and how much liquer. I had my "don julio blanco" in everything. They have "dos equies" on tap and "tacate light" in cans. Again if you dont like the way they make it just let them know and they will adjust accordingly.
Tips are never expected by waitstaff, but they do appreciate them very much. I brought 100 single for tipping, but service was so good I got another 50 from the front desk.
Sorry for spelling mistakes I dont have time now to correct them.
We will go back again as soon as we can save up.

“Disappointed in Beach Palace”

Beach Palace

May 4, 2008
2/14 found this review helpful

The Beach Palace is sandwiched in between the Avalon and Me by Melia and fills up a small space completely. It is modern in design with clean lines and art deco decor.

We felt closed in while staying here.

Beach was disappointing but that was expected.

Rooms are nice, large and well appointed. Pool areas are nice and the middle pool is heated on the main pool deck.

The property is at its best at night in terms of attractiveness. And it is missing the time share hustle of Cancun Palace.

Gym is way too small and inadequate IMO.

The biggest let down was the food. We found it to be of mediocre quality and taste and chose to dine off property most days of our stay. Breads were of the packaged variety, fish dishes woefully overcooked. I would think the food here will only appeal if frozen pizza and fast food are what you consider to be major food groups.

Drinks were not very good either. My Mojito had mint in it that was so old it was black around the edges. He made it with two packs of Splenda and then simple syrup on top of that. It was gross and the worst I had in Cancun.

When we wanted to have lunch at the tables on the deck directly outside the buffet, we were told we would have to put our food in styrofoam containers in order to do so as they do not staff to serve the outside area.

We were never asked if we wanted a drink while at the main pool , only the Sky Pool.

This is not a place I would recommend and there are far better options in the area.

“Day Visit Impression”

Beach Palace

We visited the Beach Palace on 22 April 2008 while staying at the Sun Palace. Nice hotel. Very modern and clean, family oriented, large pool next to the beach. Except there is no beach, the surf was hitting the sea wall when we were there. There was beach to the north and south of the hotel. Talking with the staff, occupancy seemed to be below 40% that day while Sun Palace was close to 100%.

The roof top pools have great potential – lots of loungers but not much shade to be found so we couldn’t stay up there long, fantastic views and great service at the snack bar / bar though. We had lunch at the buffet – food was very good with some different selections than what were at the Sun and again we had great service from the wait staff. Sports bar had plenty of seating, lots of TV’s and saw 2 pool tables. Beach Palace is in a good location with Plaza Flamingo across the street on one side and La Isla mall on the other, both a short walk away.

From what we saw I would highly recommend the Beach Palace. If we were going to stay at a non-adult only resort it would be towards the top of my list. The only negative would be having to go off the resort property to access the beach and ocean until their beach is replenished.

“Awesome Time”

As a first time Palace Resort guest, I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. We were greeted each morning by the same waiters and the concierge was very helpful to all of our needs. The entertainment staff was especially friendly and made the pool a fun place to be each day. Water volley ball and Salsa lessons were just a couple of the fun daily activities. The pool waiters and waitresses began bringing us drinks before we even had to ask. What service!

The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. We saw the floors being washed each and every day. I have neve seen such care and detail taken to cleaning the rooms.

The balconies overlooking the ocean were spectacular. Listening to the ocean waves with the door open became a daily ritual.

The restaurant service was wonderful. We forgot that it was an all inclusive resort sometimes and felt that we were in a fine dining establishment. Our waiter was never far away.

What a shock to reality to return home and back to reality.

“awesome stay at the Beach Palace”

Beach Palace

Let me start by thanking my travel agent AGermosen. I planed a family vacation for spring break. My concern was that my children Isabel 10 and Gabriel 14 have a great time. I began my quest by looking at swimming pools… the bigger the better I thought.
Upon consulting with AG, he offered the possibility of staying at one palace resort and visit any of the pools that come in all shapes and sizes.

As I reviewed and digested all of the comment in this site I was extremely apprehensive to take this plunge. My travel agent provide me with an eased of comfort as I made my decision. I live not to retreat it.

The beach palace is awesome. The staff is superb. The food is great; in particular the oriental restaurant…nonetheless, I was serenaded throughout dinner at the Italian restaurant and the food as well was excellent.

In any case, my journey began with the notion that making memories with my family was my objective. The words began to flow as I explained to my kids that a dream vacation is sometimes just that a dream, but, there is always next year.

If you travel with kids under 12 years old, you must check out the kids club at the Cancun Palace, my 10 year old favorite place. The 14 year old was happy to have made many friends at the Beach Palace and as typical teenager was certainly not happy when I checked on him. My 13 year old favorite place (aside the pools and the beach (by the way do not expect to see a beach in front of the Beach Palace, but do not despair, you just walk a few steps and in front of the Melia Hotel you have all the turquoise water you desire and more…) was the game room which is annex to the piano bar, in all the hotel is lovely, compact, clean… the swimming pools and whirlpools at the sky floor are complemented by two bars where the snacks are your favorite drink are taken to you by an always smiley waiter that is constantly greeting you with and hola and es un placer.

To make justice to this report, let me tell you about the day bed at you room located at the terrace of your room. My lovely wife should have many fond memories…I Hope, I think that the breeze of the see the sound of combined with tequila Don Pedro did the trick, it did not take long for me to become the Pancho Villa of any Senorita’s dream or the Speedy Gonzalez, in all, It was a great vacation where I found passion in my existence.

It was a great vacation.

Thank You Alex.
