“Beautiful place to stay, mixed reviews!”

Vallarta Shores International Hotel

Let me start off with the positives:
Vallarta Shores was in a perfect location. Being right on the beach was just a dream for the kids. The waves were a little strong at times, but we were there with all of the rainy weather and that could of played a factor. A lifeguard was walking up and down the beach throughout the day, even in the rain.

We did 4 nights in a 2 bedroom/ unit 7, 3 nights in penthouse B.
The 2 bedroom was very spacious and was nice. The penthouse was killer! Each bedroom had it's own bathroom.
The kitchen was much more well stocked compared to the 2 bedroom. It was just a beautiful place to be, the views of the beach were breathtaking! Having the chef was a real treat!

The maid service was excellent! They came in every morning and did such a wonderful job! Because the living areas are "open aired" they do get sandy. They even mopped everyday in all of the areas. Our dishes were always washed and put away. That was a bonus me--I felt like I wasn't on mom duty!

Negatives: No one was there when we tried to check in. The office was closed. Hello.. you knew we were coming and had our flight time. That was inexcusable. Thank goodness we found a housekeeper who let us in. We didnt know what was going on. We actually didnt get an official welcome book until we checked in the penthouse. I never understood why we didnt get this info while in the 2 bedroom.
If you are there in summer--openaired living will be hot!! The first day we had to just chill separately in the bedrooms because the living room was so hot! Yes..there will be bugs. We had a bee problem in the penthouse, ants, flys, etc..etc..we even had a crab or two in the penthouse. That is to be expected in open aired living---its just nature..but it did make eating difficult , sometimes the kids just took their plates to their rooms and shut the door.
Penthouse tile floors were very slippery with all of the rain!
Lastly, I won't mention a name out of respect...One of the gentlemen in the office I felt was kind of rude. I would wait at the office window with a question/towel need and this person would see me and would just act like I wasn;t there. One time I did see him roll his eyes and I'm sure he made a comment under his breath. You know who you are, you made me feel not so welcome! All of the others in the office were so helpful and nice!

Overall--Even tho I ranted with my negatives...I would definately stay here again. The penthouse is really the way to go for an extra special stay...PV was amazing!

My wife and I stayed at Vallarta Shores for a week and just fell in love with the place. The location is excellent, just south of the malecon and within walking distance of many fine restaurants. The service was first rate and the staff very helpful and curteous. The staff were fluent in English and very helpful and knowledgeable. They were eager to help you feel welcome.

The condo had everything one needs and more. The maid came in everyday and cleaned everything, even did the dishes! There were times when we did not want to leave the room and just sat there having a drink or glass of wine as we watched the sun set over the water.

All of the suites have balconies looking over the water and there are no buildings in front, they are on the water. The sound of the surf is incredible, just what you need to fall sleep to.

Another thing, we never heard any of the other guests as the suites are well built and solid so sound from your neighbors does not get thru the wall, all you hear is the surf.

WOW!! This was absolutely "top shelf"!!! We travelled with our two children (12 and 8) and had the best time we have had in years.

Vallarta Shores is one of the best vacation spots we have ever visited. Though we travelled during high season (spring break), the staff at Vallarta Shores assured our vacation was a relaxing and safe break from it all. Because it is located on the south side of the main beach, we were far enough removed from the night life but close enough to get to it when we so chose. Nestled on the south side of Playa de Los Muertos, Vallarta Shores is literally a "stones throw" from the Pacific Ocean -- we just had to make sure we did not hit our private pool or personal cook with "that stone". Vallarta Shores is proof positive one can visit a high traffic area and still feel far removed from the hustle and bustle that can come from travelling that time of year.

We were walking distance from downtown and every other accomodation we needed during our 8-day stay. However, if we needed a ride, the staff was there to make sure we got it -- if a taxi was unavailable, they simply fired up their car and took us where we wanted to go. The property itself, is by far the nicest, most accomodating, and personable in Vallarta. We were fortunate to book one of their two penthouse suites (if you get the chance -- do so -- it is well worth the price) which came equipped with a cook and daily cleaning staff. The cooks (Dulce and Ruben), prepared some of the finest and cost effective meals we have had in years. It was almost like we had our own 5-Star chef at our disposal. Our first night was met with a personal greeting from the ownership -- an extremely nice touch. When asked why, they simply said that they were around and thought it would be nice to meet up with us and share some Mexican hospitiality.

We had our own private swimming pool, but the public pool was equally nice. When we arrived, though we did not request it, they had pool toys for the kids. Regardless, we would have been equally satisfied if we would have booked one of their basic rooms, which were very roomy and well maintained. On those days we wanted to just stay beach-side, Vallarta Shores has available personal palapas and beach chairs to ensure your time on the sand is comfortable. Not a day went by where the staff was not checking in on us to see if we needed anything.

In advance, the staff booked every excursion we desired. We took advantage of this and enjoyed the "jungle zip lines", "jet skis", "banana boat", and "ATV Jungle Tour". On all occasions, we were happy to see that the proximity of these tours was quite close to the property.

As far as accomodating our family lfestyle, we could not have been happier. The staff even volunteered to babysit our two children if we decided to venture out on an "adult only" evening. Funny thing is -- though we did not take advantage of their hospitality in this regard, we would have felt quite comfortable doing so.

All-in-all, if you are to visit Puerto Vallarta, and feel a hotel is not for you, Vallarta Shores International would be one of the finest choices you can make. On our last day, we chose to take them up on the offer to visit other properties they own and manage. The Villa living offers (Villa Azul and Villa Celeste) they maintain are absolutely the most beautiful properties we have ever seen. Let's just say, you can not go wrong contacting these guys the next time you are considering Vallarta. I'm sure you will feel the same -- give it a shot! Vallarta Shores es Muy Bien!!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our 17th anniversary so special. Dann & I and guests could not have had a better time any where else in the world. Jorge, Ruben, all the staff are special people and are happy to share it with others to make there stay special. Hope to be back time & again. Puerto Vallarta is our favorite place to vacation and staying at your villas & condos are the best. We have never been disappointed. Continue doing what you do as it is a success. Love to all!!!!
