“Great Choice”

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta

We just returned from the Fiesta Americana and we were so happy with this hotel. I had studied every single hotel option and this was perfect for us. We wanted to be close to town and planned to eat most of our meals there. The buses run every 2-5 minutes and cost 5.5 pesos and we used them several times a day. The only negative was the weather--We never saw the sun in the 4 days we stayed! There were always hotel employees sweeping up the water, cleaning and keeping the entire place immaculate. We booked the Club level and that was brilliant--there was always cold sodas and water, breakfast (but strangely no Mexican pastry) and wine with hors d'oeuvres at night--plus being on the top floor with the high ceilings.
Ate one night at Chula Vista--maybe because of the weather or time of year, the hotel felt empty and we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. Food was good-I had the smoked marlin tacos, my son the Seafood enchiladas and my husband the fajitas--Nothing like eating under a huge palapa right on the sand with rain just coming down!- Everyone was just terrific--I had read that check in was slow and our girl was nice but gave us 1 room and then pulled it back and gave another- Sebastian at the bell captain counter was great--a running joke because our son's name is Sebastian--all in all I thought this place A++ and later saw other hotels that cost more but looked a little "cheesy" from the outside-the Fiesta Americana just looked stately and secure that it was a quality property.

“Wonderfull time!!!!!!”

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta

5 of 5 stars
Tucson Arizona

My husband and I have just returned a few days ago from Puerto Vallarta and we already miss it, we had a wonderfull experience, specially at the hotel. The people that works there are very friendly , polite and the service is great ; the food is excellent. The hotel overall is great, great pools, swim at bar, the beach is very nice, activities every day at the pool. I also experienced a massage on the beach with Isabell and it was the best. We had the all inclusive package and it was so worth it.
If you are planning a vacation to anywhere in Mexico, we tottally recomend the Fiesta Amerciana chains. We also stayed in Cancun last year at the "Coral Beach" one of the best hotels we've ever stayed and what a service " the best".

If you are planning a vacation to Puerto vallarta we totally recomend to do the Canopy tour, it is a wonderfull experience, very safe, very profesional and a lot of fun, and the staff are wonderfull . We recomend the party boats a lot of fun, specially the one it takes you to Yelapa and Majauita, it is very intersting to see the very typical villages. Also, we recomend to take a tour to the jungle where the movie Predator was filmed , very beautifull scenery.

My husband and I we are looking forward to come back sometime very soon.

We thank so much to all the staff at the hotel how great they were, what a great service.

“Excellent Hotel for a relaxing vacation”

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta

4 of 5 stars
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Jun 12, 2008

Stayed at Fiesta Americana from March 29 thru April 2, 2008. Excellent, relaxing atmosphere. Staff is extremely friendly and will do almost anything to please their guests.

ROOMS: Stayed in room 618 Oceanview Deluxe with a gorgeous view to the ocean. Rooms are large and quite comfortable. Beds are a little hard, though. Bathrooms are also large and clean. You must request a Safe Key at the front desk to use the Safe in your room. Safe is free of charge. Property is kept very clean at all times.

FOOD: Breakfast and Lunch buffets although expensive are very good. recommend to buy the all inclusive package if you will be eating at the property at all times. Had dinner on property only once and it was not a good experience but the staff remedied the situation immediately. We ordered Surf & Turf - seafood and steaks were tough and lacked taste.

POOL: Cabanas are available for rent from 10am-6pm for $20USD per day. Massages by the sea run from $76-200USD . Towels are free with a Towel Card issued to you upon check-in.

There is a large mall-like establishment across the street where you can buy groceries, drinks and snacks to keep in your room. Had dinner at the Vista Grille which was excellent - strongly recommend it. Many good restaurants downtown by the malecon. Taxi from airport to hotel should not run more than $16USD. Concierge is excellent - please use their services as they attempt to please every wish! I highly recommend this hotel for a weekend stay or longer. Very enjoyable.

“Nice Property, but Get Your Rate in Writing & Don't Change It!”

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta

First, I should say I'm not a difficult person to please while traveling. Next, this property is beautiful, and very well-kept. The attention to detail in cleaning, and the floors throughout, are really impressive. Location is so-so. It's a :15 cab ride to El Centro and the Malecon, and :20 to the Zona Romantica. Food was average, though the nachos were excellent; be prepared to pay for the food and drinks though. It is expensive. Again, fine for me, as I expected that. Now, for the bad.

I had a reservation for $111.00 per night. Tried to upgrade upon check-in to a 9th floor room after reading here that the extra $50 is worth it. Dealt with the manager, or perhaps the assistant, who quoted $75.00 extra per night. Again, fine. I was wiling to pay. But the room would be an hour to be ready. Ok again. Came back after 1.5 hours. Not ready. Would be ready in another hour. Came back in an hour. Not ready. Come to find out after standing at the desk for :40 that there was no 9th floor room available. I'm a bit perturbed by this point, so I explain I just want my original room at the original rate. This time a young woman is helping me, and she checks me in on the 8th floor at the original rate of $111.00. I had her write it down so that I had it in writing (I'm a lawyer, occupational hazard). Great room, fab view.

Went to check out and my bill has the upgrade rate, for a total of nearly $400 mas. No good, and I explain why to the manager, who I can see isn't interested or listening. I explain I'm not paying for an upgrade I didn't get. No food, no extras, no 9th floor. Period. He explains that I did get an upgrade, and that the 8th floor was an upgrade. We argued for :20. Unbelievable. I then understood clearly that he was making every attempt to draw out the process so that I'd have to leave for my plane. I'd read elsewhere that this is a common ploy. So I explained, no, no Senor, I came down very early, and I have all the time in the world. Oh, the dismay. So now, he changes his tune to explain that he would give me a reduced upgrade rate (after consulting his calculator and furiously punching in numbers - always a bad sign in Mexico) of $25.00 per night, admitting that the woman who checked me in had made a mistake of quoting the original rate. I pull out the original reservation and hand-written note from his employee showing that my rate was what it was. No go. He generates a new invoice for a total of $130 more than they agreed, take it or leave it. I did not want to tour a jail so I signed and told him what he fool he was. I'll get the $ back - in federal court here if necessary -because they stole from me, and I won't let that go. So buyer beware, they will charge you more any way they can, and you have no leverage once they do. You're in Mexico, and you are at their mercy. I will never set foot in the place again, and what a shame. It could be a first-class hotel.

“Well Kept and Clean”

I stayed at this hotel with my company for a Sales trip, so I cannot speak to the price of the rooms. But I can speak to the cleanliness of the facility and the staff. This is one of the cleanest places I have stayed - and that says a lot because I am very picky. The accommodations are average - nothing above ordinary. But what is lacking in frills is made up for by the attentive staff. They came by the room two or three times a day to check in and clean up. People are constantly cleaning and straightening the common areas. Each morning I watched the grounds crew meticulously clean the pool area and beach (someone actually smoothed the sand on the beach each morning - WOW). The staff were all willing to help and answer any questions. They have a very knowledgeable concierge staff as well – received several very good suggestions. I would definitely recommend Fiesta Americana to anyone!
