I just stayed at the Tokyo Dome Hotel for two weeks on business/vacation and had a truly outstanding time. The hotel is certainly modern, brand new and gorgeous. The staff is so attentive and helpful with every possible amenity you could hope for. There are 9 restaurants and bars in this hotel- including, Chinese, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Continental and a Sizzler.
The guest services desk will help you with anything right down to Japanese gift wrapping and shipping packages. In room massages are available for about $50 USD for 50 min. Just press a button on the phone. The hotel store has all of your basics as well as souvenirs and a nail salon. The lobby is a busy meeting place, full of excitement with a mezzanine wedding chapel; so if you are there on the weekend, enjoy the kitsch of a modern Japanese wedding! Or plan your own with their beautiful wedidng planning facilities.
The technology of the hotel is very cool. You'll have to see for yourself! Japanese innovation is right on!
High-speed internet is available if you ask for it in your room for an additional charge. Fortunately, there are no international compatibility issues!
The hotel is part of a complex called Tokyo Dome City which is great for families. There is an amusement park right outside your window, but no disruptive noise. There is an open mall that leads to an indoor mall with numerous additional restaurants and western mall type stores. You will also find many American fast food chains right nearby, MacDonalds, Subway, KFC, Denny's, etc. There is also a beautiful spa in the mall that you get a discount on from the hotel. And of course the Tokyo Dome is there for baseball or whatever off-season event you may find.
There are two trains nearby for convenient mass transit. Airport shuttle is available for about $30.00 USD to Narita, which is reasonable considering it is almost a 2 hour ride.
The only drawbacks are minimal. The room service menu is limited. There is only an outdoor pool and no fitness facilities in the hotel.
