Great Place to Stay

Relatively new (~1 year as of July 08). Reminded me of European boutique hotels. Clean, well cared for. Great staff. Close to everything in downtown Montreal. This will be my regular stop when returning to the city.

Excellent choice !

Everything about this hotel is good. I particularly liked the spacey room and the comfort of the matress. Free internet and availability of PC in each room is definitely a plus. Breakfast is good enough, but could be richer in variety. Excellent ratio quality/price

Great!

We stayed for 3 nights, the overall experiences was great. The bed is very comfortable and the room is very modern. It also had a small refrigerator, safety & computer with internet access. It was walking distance to Chinatown and the metro, about 20 minutes walking to Old Montreal & other attractions. The breakfast is NOT buffet is continental with an ok variety. The only down side is the parking which is $17 with out in/out access; but the metro is very close to the hotel. Overall a great experience, we definitely recommend it.

Great value

Everything was great, the room, the staff, the location! The only complaint was the boring, but nutritious breakfast. But, with the savings on the room, you can afford to go out for a terrific brunch a few days.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eggspectation cafe, about 2-3 blocks away, had the best eggs benedict for breakfast or lunch, not open evenings. Old Montreal has every type of regional and ethnic food known to man. So, just walk a few blocks for great food, shopping, and galleries.

Please don’t stay here...

I want to make certain that there is always a room available! I couldn’t have been more pleased with my stay here, especially given the rate. The decor/design may not appeal to everyone but we loved it, and the gracious staff. Great location as well.

We’ll be back

We loved this hotel...just 4 short blocks from the train station, it’s location allowed us to walk to all our favorite neighborhoods. Just 2 short blocks to Old Town The rooms are spotless and very tastefully decorated. The bed was comfy with down comforter and best of all, a flat screen computer with free internet access. There are also flat screen TV’s and complimentary breakfast til 10am. It really worked well and we will return. The only negative for me was that there are no bath tubs, only showers...but even the showers are beautiful, so I barely missed the tub.

Traveler's tip on dining

Steak and Frites (on Rue St Paul in old town)for well priced steak and duck confiet DSENS in le Village: 1334 St Catherine est is wonderful for French cuisine. The Latin Quarter for crepes and Greek Food. there are 1000’s of restarants in downtwon Montreal with great food and good prices

Under-rated

very convenient for conference center, old town and downtown. Beautiful finishes and simple high quality fittings. Relatively quiet - not quite like the illustration picture implies! Only quarrel with ’motel-style’ breakfast - but who cares. Really good value for money.

Great Location, Very Comfortable, Super !

Though right on Rue De Bleury, a main street in the International Quarter and very near Old Montreal, we found our room not only comfortable and well appointed but quiet. In addition, we were very impressed to find that we had an up-to-date flat screen and WiFi as well as an in-room computer with cable access.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

While Old Montreal is only a two block walk away, a Montreal Metro station is only a block away as well. The Metro is clean, modern and very convenient.

Loved It!

All four of us were very pleased with the level of service and the condition of the hotel. We also liked the location between the "Old City" and "Downtown." Parking is available but I found it quite daunting to find my car when I went to retrieve it. However, after that first time, I knew the ropes. The staff were helpful and pleasant. I say a 5-star from us!

Traveler's tip on shopping

Check out the underground city/warren of stores. It went all the way to the hotel.

Gem of A Hotel!

Wonderful 2 night stay in this boutique hotel which was centrally located and included underground parking by reservation for an extra $17 a night which was well worth the convenience. Room was clean, beds comfortable and amenities even included a computer complete with free internet use. Front desk people were very cordial and the breakfast was simple but satisfying. Hot pork and beans for breakfast is a Canadian tradition I was not prepared for!

Modern, affordable hotel...

Staff was helpful. Don’t let the neighborhood or exterior fool you - the hotel is very nice on the inside. Modern rooms with many amenities. Free breakfast with lots of choices. Parking close by (but extra). Right beside the convention center. Would definitely stay there again in the future.

Luxury at bargain prices

This new hotel was very clean and modern. The addition of a free computer was a real plus as were free local calls. The ample continental breakfast made getting out of bed before 10 AM worth the effort. The hotel’s location is excellent--near the Palais de Congres and Vieux Montreal. The shopping and other conveniences of Ste. Catherine Street are also very near. We went in the winter and the convenience of the Underground City, the RESO, made it a very enjoyable time. The friendly and helpful bilingual staff offered suggestions for eating and sightseeing and made us feel at home.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The proximity of the old city and the Metro adds to the hotel.

Definitely a great find!!

This hotel is everything I’ve been read about. The room I stayed in is impeccable with the nice, sleek, and clean design. I’ve read the reviews that this hotel offers the computer with internet connection. It was a deal sealer for me. Too bad the computer was Windows Vista in French, which I do not speak, so I finally ended up using only my laptop connected through the CAT5 cable. But the French thing was my own problem. Other than that, the decoration was all new. I was told from the local that this hotel building is pretty brand-new. The staff was very nice. They do not come and smother you like big hotels, which I prefer. But when I had a problem calling the shuttle bus company to come pick me up the day I was leaving, the staff found out that I had the wrong number from the website and helped me find the right one plus make a call, which turned out to also be a problem due to the late hour. They kept checking with me and seem to genuinely care about my problem. All in all, this hotel offers a luxurious relaxation any other decent hotels would provide, with a warm and comfort of a family-run hotel. The hotel can be a little too quiet for fun-loving people, but for me it was great to come back to the room and relax after long days. Combined with the great location (between 2 subway stations: Square Victoria and Place d’Arms, go to the Place d’Arms it was much nearer than the Sq.Victoria), this hotel offers one of the best valued stay that I have ever been to.

Is it really just a 3 stars hotel ??!!

I was impressed, much better than i thought it would be for a 3 stars hotel, brand new hotel 2007, rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds, very nice and helpful staff speaking both English and French, the hotel is very safe and located very nicely between the old port and STE CATHERINE ST. Complementry computer with LCD screen and free internet, plasma TV, dvd player, coffee maker, iron & iron board and a very good fresh breakfast..

Nice Hotel

I looked at the review before booking this hotel. As the other reviews said it is a very nice hotel in downtown location at a very reasonable price. The hotel staff is friendly and good looking :) The rooms are very clean and cozy with modern decor. The rooms are equipped with PCs so you don’t need your own computer to get on the internet. The location is ideal for many downtown attractions.
