Great Hotel

We chose this hotel for a vacation stay because we wanted something with some European charm. it absolutely filled the bill. A nice comfortable room. A nice breakfast with fruit, many breads, cheeses, etc. It is not a good place if you have trouble with stairs---There is no elevator. Good location--two blocks from Metro and 10 minutes walk to dozens of restaurants offering whatever cuisine you desire.

Great location

This charming hotel has the atmosphere of a B&B.It’s excellent location and excellent value make it a logical choice for any future trips to Montreal. We were most greatful for the central air conditioning and extremely quiet room during a rare heatwave in Montreal.

Old World Charm with New World Convenience

A superb small hotel for the sophisticated traveler who knows the difference between luxury and glitz and who enjoys the understated grace and charm of a European-style hotel nestled amid the attractions of a 21st century international city.

Traveler's tip

All the conveniences and access to the arts.

Great location and staff

This hotel was only 2 blocks from the Guy-Concordia Metro station. It was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and museums. The hotel had a lot of charm and personality. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was outstanding. The complimentary breakfast had something for everyone. I was very pleased with this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The Metro is a fast and reliable way to get around the city. The stations are clean and well lit. The trains run every few minutes even on Sunday. If your stay is several days, a multi-day pass will save you some money.

Great deal, Great Hotel!

For the price, this hotel cannot be beat! We recently stayed here for 5 days to attend a wedding. It’s a little outside of the downtown area but close to the subway and if it’s nice out, a nice walk to downtown. There are plenty of restaurants in the area (Starbucks, Pizza, Chinese, Halal, etc.) and a large movie theatre complex (AMC) a few blocks away. There is a parking garage located at a college a few blocks away for 5 dollars (US) a day on weekends. Fills up pretty fast though so get there early. The hotel gym is very small (bike, treadmill and a machine) but at least it’s something. The breakfast is very nice and included! There are 2 computers in the lobby (Free) as well. Room safes are good.

Small boutique just off downtown area

The hotel is small, quaint and quiet and decorated in early century motif. The room was pretty small and sometimes cramped with the large king size bed. I had a deluxe room hoping for a desk, but there was none, so working on a laptop in the room was frustrating, as was the wireless network coverage on the upper floor. Even for room service, there was no place for the tray other than the bed. There is a small gathering room in the lobby where breakfast is served that is more comfortable. Breakfast was a basic continental but adequate to get going. The location is good for walking to restaurants, shopping and galleries nearby. Overall, the hotel, location and service was good but may not be best if you need to be working in your room.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Ask specifically for a room with a desk if you’ll be laptopping.

A little gem on Sherbrooke

I was thoroughly impressed with my recent 5 night stay at the Chateau Versailles. My father was upgraded to a lovely suite just behind the front desk. I had a lovely room on the 3rd floor-- compact but had everything I needed. The breakfast room and quality of food was excellent and much appreciated. I found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. I used the business center to check my e-mail and often found the 2 computer terminals unoccupied. The location is excellent-- within walking distance of many restaurants, museum, etc. I will definitely stay there again.

We’ll definitely be back!

What a great hotel! Our deluxe room at the Chateau Versailles was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and quiet. From the moment we checked in, the service was top-notch -- friendly, knowledgeable and highly efficient. The hotel is just a block away from the Guy-Concordia metro station, which gives you access to pretty much anywhere in the city -- very convenient and easy. The included continental breakfast in the hotel’s salon was a great way to start each day. What a terrific hotel experience. We will be back!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you plan to get around via the metro and/or buses, be sure to buy an unlimited one- or three-day pass. The three-day pass was just $17, which meant we could hop on and off the metro and really explore the sights of Montreal at will (without buying a new ticket each time we did so...).

Great location and great hotel staff!

We really enjoyed the location near shopping, art museum, galleries and restaurants. Very helpful and friendly staff increased our enjoyment of our stay.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Lots of restaurants nearby. Be sure to plan enough time for the art museum. (But watch out for agressive, red-light-running Montreal driving. Even the bicyclists are dangerous to pedestrians!)

Great local, capable staff, clean and simple in a classic style

Hotel is ideally located and be sure to go across the street to their sister hotel for incredible restaurant and bar. Hotel is clean, not fancy and ideal for one person--not a romantic spot but good for business visitors. Breakfast room and internet service was a plus.
