Also when in September. becuase if your dates co incide with the TIFF - Toronto International Film festival - cheap will be difficult unless you want to stay in some outlying area.

Hi;

Sorry, but “cheap” and “downtown” don’t go together in Toronto, especially in September.

The Toronto International Film Festival, the largest film festival in the world outside of Cannes, is held at the beginning of September. Most hotels will be booked up by now, so finding less expensive accommodations will be even more difficult.

Click on the green button on the left side of your screen marked “Toronto Hotels”. A new page will be displayed where you can enter your dates and price range. Have a look at the hotels displayed, and read the traveler reviews.

Once you have narrowed down a few hotels, come back to the forums and get further details on them.

Best Regards

You might have to look in Mississauga which is one of the burbs of Toronto for something along the lines of cheap but even guests for the film festival will be spilling into this area so I would act quickly.

Good luck!

Go on Priceline. Bid on downtown. Start at $60.

Mississauga is very far from downtown. You would need to hire a car. Don't do it. Try Priceline as the previous poster suggested. Start with Downtown West.

The Strathcona is a decent hotel. It is by no means luxury but it is more than adequate.

It is about an 15 minute cab ride to the Madison Pub.

Thanks for that, I dont suppose you no if children are allowed in the pub if its a private function? As my kids are 16 and 11, i dont no if the rules are different over there.

If the function is at night children under 19 will not be allowed to attend.

If it is in the afternoon, they may be allowed.

You might want to check with your sister on this.
