We went for lunch.. very small place but very good food. My husband had the BLT and I had the 1/2 Shrimp Po-boy with a bowl of Gumbo. Everything was great, even the price. I was surprised at how good the Gumbo was.. I thought it was as good as the Gumbo shop. I would try to eat here on... more

My husband and I visited Johnny's on our last day in the Quarter. He got a catfish and I got the roast beef. Wow they were huge...I should have got the half size. Both were very yummy. The location is a little small but luckily we got a table. Gotta go to Johnny's atleast once. more

We always eat here when visiting NOLA. I love the catfish po-bys and my husband loves the shrimp ones. The catfish is excellent and the breading is delicious. If you want your po-boy "dressed" (tomato and lettuce, etc.) add .50 to the posted price. The only complaint is that the po-boys could use a bit more liquid condiment and the... more

The Oyster Po-Boys are by far the best I have ever had. Worth it to go just for that. I made the mistake of ordering the oyster po-boy at Mothers. Not anywhere near as good. more

Thankfully, Johnny's fills the void, and whether you're looking for a fried seafood fix or a cheap lunch, Johnny's is the place to go. The restaurant itself is not much but conveys a hustle and bustle that is typical of... more

From the other reviews it seems that people may be a little confused about what Johnny's is about. If your the type who notices when a floor is a little dirty and enjoys their weekly trips to the Applebee's or Red Lobster then this ain't for you. If you enjoy local flavor at hole-in-the-wall type joint's and the first thing... more

While visiting New Orleans my family and I decided to eat a po-boy for the first time at Johnny's. What a mistake! We walked in the door and the place was packed. It took us well over 30 minutes just to get to the front of the line and place our order. This gave us plenty of time to view... more
