Our family vacation took place at the MLD from July 26 – August 9, 2008. It was our first time in Cayo Santa Maria and our third visit to Cuba in the last five years. Our party of 2 adults and 2 kids (9 & 11) had a wonderful time at this resort. RESORT LOCATION / BEACH The resort is... more

I originally wanted to book a different hotel somewhere else but it was full so my travel agent suggested Melia Las Dunas. I read tons of good reviews and the pictures were awesome but when I got there . . . I saw nothing but children and baby strollers everywhere! So if you're wondering if it's a good resort to... more

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Melia Las Dunas. After reading some of the reviews on this website, I was rather apprehensive about visting, but on arrival, my fears were soon laid to rest. This is an attractive hotel, situated on the beach, with two pool areas (one for adults and one for... more

Our group of 15 people travelled there from Aug 2. We had the wedding of our dream at Melia Las Dunas on the 8 of August. After the wedding, everyone left and we - the newlywed couple stayed for one more week. This hotel really did a wonderful job in everything, from food to service to entertainment.... I have to... more

We were at Melia Las Dunas July 19-26, 2008. Family of 4, mid thirties, children age 5 and 10. This is our second time to this resort. We were there during July 2007. Air canada: Great leg room, tv in back of every seat, lots of movie selection. The breakfast food is a egg/ham on english muffin. Not very good... more

My fiance and I stayed in this hotel from June 23rd to July 7th and booked through Thomas Cook. I found the flight very tedious, not just because it is 10 hours but because of the poor in-flight entertainment and not being able to sit by my fiance due to 'hardly any families of 3 being booked on', this may... more

We travelled to Cuba in July 2008 for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook. The plane journey was long, but the recent increase in leg room on Thomas Cook flights was welcome! Meals were what was to be expected from a flight. Immigration at the airport was interesting... didn't take too long though. Expect to asked what your job is, why... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the melia las dunas from 23rd June-7th July. Having read reviews on here before we went I was expecting to have a great time. We flew with Thomas Cook and the in-flight entertainment was very poor compared to my previous long-haul experience with First Choice. When we got to the airport my boyfriend and... more

Spent 10 days here at the beginning of July. We adapted a Virgin package which was overnight in Havana on route to have 3 nights in Havana which worked well. We were the only 2 Virgin holiday makers in the hotel so had the rep Leonardo to ourselves. We flew from Havana in a small plane direct to the island... more

The check-in was good – the bell boys from MLD meet you at the airport and hand you an envelope with your keys, wrist bands and hotel information put your cases on the coach and when you arrive at the hotel they give you a welcome drink and you are greeted by dancers. Your cases are delivered to your room... more
