We planned to stay for five nights as part of a honeymoon trip, to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef and relax in comfort and isolation. We went in late May/early June. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected storm and we ended up getting stranded on the island longer than planned, impacting our other arrangements. Nothing could be done so we made... more

We stayed on Wilson Island towards the end of August and we agreed with everyone we met there - it's the most incredible place we have ever stayed. My wife and I woke up each morning with the view of the beach and the ocean pretty much at the foot of our bed and almost had to pinch ourselves to... more

We just returned from a short 4 day relaxing trip to Queensland's amazing Wilson Island. We originally booked to stay on Heron Island for the entire 4 days but, when we arrived and heard about Wilson, we couldn't help but upgrade and transfer across to Wilson Island! We arrived at Gladstone airport which is very very small and you can't... more

We just returned from our stay on Wilson Island. It was definitely the highlight of our Australian vacation. We were advised that the Heli transfer from Gladstone was a must for those who do not have sea legs. The flight was breathtaking. Seeing the reef from above was fantastic and the added cost was well worth it. Upon arrival onto... more

We chose to take our 5 day Wilson Island experience over the New Year period. We were tentative because we had no idea who the other castaways would be - as it happens there were only 6 other guests and they were all really lovely people. I think you have to be reasonably broad minded to go to Wilson -... more

Wonderful island secluded from the rest of the world, when we went there on honeymoon, we were the only guests. There is not a great deal to do (snorkelling with the fishes, eating, reading and walking the reef) but the peace and quiet is worth the trip. more

Wilson Island is one of the best getaways I could imagine. No TV No Internet No Papers This is the ideal place to shut yourself from the world and enjoy the phenomenal Great Barrier Reef. All the guest beach huts (permanent tents) are literally a step from the beach. The very adequate meals are cooked by the host couple and... more

This was one of the absolute highlights of our one month holiday in Australia. For a first trip to the Great Barrier Reaf, this is a fantastic place to discover the snorkeling, sea-life and absolute relaxation of the place. Service and quality of the place is near perfect. Take a look at the pictures on-line, they are true!! more

My wife and I had 3 nights on Wilson and it was just superb. Apart from the host couple there was only another 2 couples. It was like you had the whole island to yourself. It was March so that meant the turtle activity (females coming onto the beach to lay the eggs and baby hatchlings erupting from the sand)... more

I can definitely recommend Wilson Island if you want to get away from everything for a few days. The food and drinks (wine and beer as well as soft drinks) are included and were of a very good standard and in generous quantities. The service was excellent. There are never more than 12 guests on the island at a time... more
