Stayed for 2 nights mid-week in August 08 on the tail end of 2 weeks in the US. Got a great deal on the room via Expedia for the Premium King room a fortnight out. The hotel is very stylish and modern with a nod to decadence. Some of the pillars are wrapped in leather and the bath in our... more

This is an incredible hotel! The Ivy Hotel is such a rare treat: smart design with exquisite style. The entire place is gorgeous and the rooms are divine. Yes, this hotel caters to a younger, richer crowd. And if you watch their promotional video which loops on their own in-room channel, the word pretentious comes to mind. The young staff... more

We got a grand corner king room - beautiful large room and view. It was recommended to us as a more quiet alternative due to the hotel club and surroundings around week-ends and it was OK eventhough we still could hear the clubs. The staff is young but polite. The only notewordy problems were that we never got anything the... more

When we checked into the hotel it seemed like it was going to be great choice. I think the best way to sum up our stay was that the hotel and staff were ranked at the top of my list but after 8 pm guests are treated like second class. If you have any guests visiting you in your hotel... more

Beautiful hotel with great rooms, but poor service (eg conceirge who doesn't couldn't help with posting an envelope), and frat-boy guests (shouting in the corridors at 4am, one guest wandering the hallways totally naked because his "friends" locked him out). Some nice service from the valet attendants, but otherwise service wasn't up to the $400/room pricing. Overall, a disappointing experience... more

I work with hospitality too and this beautiful hotel has serious problems. Yes, it's beautiful, has a nice nightclub but people that work there are so rude and full of attitude! They must think: I work at the Ivy uhhhh I'm the best. Well let me tell you something: wake up people! Guests bring you money, guests pay for your... more

So I stayed there with my boyfriend on August 1 as well and our stay was absolutely fabulous. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Lets start with the staff...you can tell that the staff has pride in their workplace as it shows in their service. From the valets, to the front desk staff (Thank you Donald & Malia), to the elvator... more

First off the hotel is very nice but I still expected more for the rate of the room as well as much better service. The "24 hour" butler service is not near as quick as they say. I had to call down 3 times within 3 hours just to get them to show us how to use the air conditioning... more

After meeting with several hotels in the San Diego area, I soon realized The Ivy was where we needed to stay. Everything from the warm welcome to the constant willingness to accommodate our every need. It has the modern, masculine and professional style of NY with the hip and sexy energy of Los Angeles all brought together in beautiful downtown... more

Went to the club with friends on a Saturday night- didn't stay at the hotel. The lines to get in are long whether seeking general admission or the VIP area. To get in the VIP area (Eden Rooftop) expect to pay a minimum of $350 for a bottle with a $75 tip. Hotel guests get complimentary passes to the VIP... more
