We just came back from four nights at the Bayview. The service, breakfasts, and cookies were fantastic. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and friendly. The shuttle service to town was helpful, though we usually opted just to walk the one mile to the heart of Bar Harbor. The hotel itself is a little old but comfortable. The rooms are... more

We spent 3 nights at the Bayview and loved the great view from our balcony. It was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, and watch the sea birds, after a long day of touring. The hotel was very clean, and the room nice and large. The buffet breakfast was adequate, but the best part of the hotel... more

We cannot say enough about this facility and the staff of the Bayview. We visited there for 10 days in August 2008 and were blown away. Everyone from the shuttle driver to the breakfast waitress to the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Travelling with a 5 year old and 2 year old is not always easy but with... more

My husband and I had travelled to Bar Harbor last year and wanted to try a different hotel this year since we were the two of us only. I selected the Bayview based on the review on this site (1st on 37 hotels!). It seemed to have a wonderful view, peaceful, a pool to relax. I mistakenly thought there was... more

We stayed at this place for four nights in July. The building is probably old, but very well mantained and all the facilities are sparkling clean, including the common areas and the rooms. Rooms are very big (even for the US standards), and a good breakfast choice. The property has that boring, unsofisticated flower decor all over, the room, the... more

Based upon the reviews from this website, we chose the Bayview when we traveled to Bar Harbor. We were not dissapointed!! This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Very clean, beautiful view. Has french doors that open up to a private balcony that overlooks Frenchman's Bay. There is a sliding screen door that allows in the... more

I originally booked this hotel strickly off the reviews I read on this page and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are huge. The morning sunrises from our balcony were great, but that was only the start of what you encounter when you go down for breakfast. It lists the breakfast as a continental, but it... more

This is a very nice property right on Frenchmans Bay. We stayed in a 2 bedroom townhome, right up the hill. The unit was very functional, full kitchen, dining room, balconies. Very comfortable-do not expect 5-star, but very fine nonetheless. Nice open grass area right behind the unit, all overlooking the bay. The front desk were truly exceptional-they took us... more

We just spent a week here on our travels in the northeast. Our room was a large, bright, airy, extremely clean one with a king-sized bed and a gorgeous view overlooking the water. The bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping wonderful. Though there is no restaurant at the hotel, they do provide you with a nice complimentary breakfast buffet... more
